I want to paint my grille black
Hello, I have a Crystal Black Pearl 2013 ACURA TL 3.5 Base model and I want to blacken out my grille (but not the emblem). However, I'd like the olor of the grille to completely match the color of the car, just like the Acura TL shown in the photo attached. Should I plasti-dip my grille (even though I doubt the color will completely match the car's color)? Or should I just buy a new Crystal Black Pearl grille from https://www.acurapartswarehouse.com/...tk4-a11zf.html
Please let me know what you guys think. Keep in mind I want the color of the grille to match the color of the car! Thank you in advance!!

the color of the car is Crystal Black Pearl.
plastidip is NOT in the business of matching factory paint.
although, since plastidip is cheap, you can play around with the black and it's metallizer, to mimick CBP...but dont expect it to be a match.
So, LESS talking and MORE PLASTIDIPPING. It's cheap, so get to work. CHOP CHOP!

I also wanted that beak to match the color of my car. Removing the beak is not hard to do, figure 2 or 3 hours to disassemble depending on your mechanical ability. You can either sand, prime and paint it yourself or take it to a body shop and somewhere between $100 and $200 should get the job done to perfection. I also added a 3m plastic over the finished product to protect the beak from rocks. It's been about 2 years now and it still looks like the day I installed it. My car is also Crystal Black Pearl. I can't tell you the number of other Acura owners who wait for me in a parking lot wanting to know either how to do this mod or wanting to know if my car is some new model.

The inconvenient truth
The only way you can exact color match is by painting it Crystal Black Pearl. A generic gloss black is pretty close but it wont be exact or have that crystal in it. Get the paint code and you can get a paint shop to mix you up a custom batch of crystal black pearl. I've done it before for my old car which had a color that was discontinued and you couldn't get touchup paint for it anywhere. The shop I went to got it 100% exact and it wasn't a simple color either it was "dark garnet red metallic". I know for sure they would be able to make crystal black pearl and its not that expensive either.
Also I've already looked into this the paint code is NH731P.

The link you posted is for the entire grill assembly and the part that is black is the piece between your hood and the beak. If you order that, the beak will still be silver.
Best would be to take out the grill assembly and get the beak colour matched. I did this over the weekend and its much better plasti dipping. Up close it shines and reflects light the same way as the other body panels.

Some automotive paint store can mix any color you want and put it in an arisol can so you can just spray it yourself. Not sure if they do 2 or 3 stage paints but if you want a deeper clear just buy another can of clear coat to spray on top of the painted part or base coat.
Spray cans are good for small parts not a large panel.
Just give them your paint code and they will know what to do.

I don't think Plastidipping a black TL would look to good, not in Matte form anyways. You could experiment with the glossifier though and see how that turns out. The slight contrast might actually look quite good. I plastidipped my beak but mine is graphics luster so the matte looked pretty good. I'll have to post a picture later.

I've got a matte black grille wrap on my CBP TL and I like it. I wasn't a fan of colour matched beaks so I went for the matte
This is what it looks like and what it would probably look like with Plastidip without the glossifier:

In my opinion, by far the best (inexpensive + easy as well) is a wrap. Paint will eventually chip on a grill, and I personally don't like the look of plasti dip. Glossy black wrap matches the
paint and blends nice.
