#3 (currently) interstate megatron plus 24- 85 mos battery...cranks much easier and a lot faster even after my car has sat for a couple of weeks.

some OEM batteries last 5-6 yrs, some a few months...seems the avg is around 3-4 yrs.

so much for the OEM battery lasting 100 mos.

sometimes they go without warning, other times you get slow cranking, or dash light flickering, or weird electrical gremlins that come out of no where. people replaced the battery and you have a happy car again.
Every car I've ever had has had issues with an early dying battery.
Current car - so far no issues but only 12K miles.
'10 Maxima - dead battery around 15k miles
'07 Accord - dead battery around 17K miles if i remember correctly
'00 Grand Prix - dead battery at 30kish miles
'98 Firebird - dead battery under 30k miles
'96 Camaro - bought it at 50k miles and it already had an aftermarket battery

Pulled the dip stick, and guess what? No oil on the dip stick......again. I give up, dealer said that i've gone 6,000km, so that's not really a huge issue. It's now normal, as before the fix it was burning alot more. Burning is burning, no $45,000 + car should have to add oil between recomended oil change intervals. So i asked them, if this is normal, then i don't need to add any oil? He said correct, just ride it out, and if the Low Oil light comes on before my oil change, then call him. So whatever, 13 months remaining on my lease, and Acura can have this gem back. What a shame, i love the car, but can't keep it after warranty, with a rebuilt engine.

Back to the op's extended warranty question, i'd pull the dip stick before picking it up, checking the oil level and the oil percentage left on the car. If they didn't replace the oil, and it's not at the full mark, then you my friend are in the same boat as us. I'd take the warranty, but they will still try to push back on fixing it. Just be strong. Sorry, didn't mean to rant....
