Help me decide/opinion on Acura TL purchase?

Hello Everyone,

Im new to this forum, I may have found the right car for me. I need your help/expertise to narrow down the pricing of the following:

Car A:
2012 Acura TL Advance (One Owner) clean Carfax
Mileage: 21000
Exterior color: Bellanova white
Interior: Black
Asking price: $29900.00 non CPO (can be CPO for $995)

Car B:
2014 Acura TL Technology Package (Dealer Loaner Car) with few minor scratches front bumper
Mileage: 8000
Exterior color: Graphite Luster Metallic
Interior: Black
Asking price: $31900 non CPO (can be CPO for $600 more) )

Car C:
2013 Acura TL Technology Package (Showroom Car and Dealer loaner Aero kit installed) lots of scrapes front chin and chip paint front bumper size of quarter coin. Dealer offered to repaint the bumper.
Mileage: 6000
Exterior Color: Bellanova White
Interior: Black
Asking Price: $31900 non CPO ( can be CPO for $600 more)

Do you think these are the right price for the cars mentioned? At what price point should I haggle and how low? I live in Las Vegas NV. I have an 08 Accord V6 EXL Nav with 70k miles paidoff, took it to CarMax and was offered $12k. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Are they all SHAWD? If not, prices are too high, especially car A. I personally I would pay 25.5 - 26K for car A.

Do you like White? Or are you flexible on colors?

To give you some preference point, I bought my brand new 2013 FWD TL Tech for $34.3K before trade in, tax and title fees in May 2013.

You can probably get a brand new left over 2014 now for a very very good price, if they still have any.

if car A is shawd, thats the one i would go with

the simple fact that it was a private owned vehicle its a better bet compared to cars that have basically been used as rental cars IMO

All 3 cars are front wheel drive, personally I prefer white or gray. So far this is what the dealer asking price. Wife and I test drove all three and took notes. I have not made any offer on any, at what price range should I offer for Car A. Does the blind spot monitoring system on Advance model beeps or just blink?

It comes on solid when a car is in the lane, it flashes fast if you put on your turn signal. No sound

I agree. I would favor a single owner car over one that has been driven/used/abused by dozens and dozens of "could care less" drivers.

Not a big a fan of dealer demo or loaner cars, to many abusive drivers. From that standpoint I would go with car A.
Did you consider spending a weekend in So-Cal, lot more choices, not that far of a drive.
Even if you don't want to head over to Cali tell the dealer that is in your plans. Did that at Las Vegas Acura and the negotiating process took a turn in my favor.

Been looking around So Cal. But I don't have the time yet to drive, I know there's a lot more options and color selections especially at Acura Riverside.

Been looking/making phone calls around So Cal., but I don't have time to drive there at this time.

So I made an offer to car A for $27k, my salesman did not return my call or tried to counter my offer. I also made an offer to car C for $30k- dealer fix the chip paint and window tint, again my salesman never called back. Just to keep everyone in the loop the two offers are different Acura dealership. Am I asking to low that I scared them away?

Give them a day or two - it's nearing the end of the month, and also the end of their Q3 financial quarter, so they'll have quotas to hit. Your prices may be on the lower side, but maybe they'll accept. There are many 2012-2014 TL's for sale, so it's not the end of the world if these don't work out...

No, it's not too low.

Like triax37 said, give them a day or too. You can drop by tomorrow and work out the deal in person. It's end of the month, so if you show up in person, they will take it more serious. Be prepared to walk out, they will call you back on Saturday to complete the deal.

My TL has the Advance package and to me it's worth the money over the Tech package. I love the blind spot monitoring system and the ventilated seats. I also greatly prefer the Advance wheel package to the wheels that come on the Tech trim. My $.02 worth.

As others have said / eluded to, don't get tied to these particular cars. There are plenty of others out there and you need to be able to mentally and physically walk away from them. The dealers may well come back to you in time and you may wind up with one of them, but you can't show your cards.
Besides it sounds like you are in great shape with your Accord. Guessing this is a want, more than a need?

Two offers made at Findlay and Las Vegas Acura and no call from anyone. Price dropped on car A but my sales rep never called back, I called him back a week later and he said my offer was a joke. I offered $30k OTD and he laughed.

Thank you All for your input, finally pulled the trigger and bought 2012 Acura TL Tech Package BWP/wheat interior with 21k miles CPO. Bought it in California paid $29000 OTD, original owner took good care of the car. No dent/dings in pristine condition. Pictures to come soon.

Congrats on the new ride. Good to see you drove to Cali, tough to negotiate in a town with only 2 dealers.

CAR A. No question, I know what I do with loaner cars, and I am not the only one.

It is overpriced though... I just got a black on black fully loaded 2012 with 27k miles for 24,600....

Again thanks for your reply, I bought a 2012' TL Tech package CPO with 21K odometer (manufactured date 5/12). Asking price was $28500 negotiated for $28700 OTD and also negotiated to add splashguard and all weather mats. I know I should have bought a Shawd, I test drove 2 TL Shawd but it did not pass my inspection. One was an 12' neglected by 1st owner lots of dings and front seat was repaired (leather cracked) not Certified, second one was also '12 high mileage with 41k not the color I wanted (black). So far I got the car 30% window tinted and installed Xpel clear bra. Wish the car came with 18x8 wheels like Shawd or Advance model, that would be my next project.

Congrats on the new car! Those dealers were lousy salesman. At least call you back and counter. The worse thing either of you could do it say no, no need to be insulting. But your driving your new car and they are not getting a commission check for blowing a sale. You win.
