Headlights recommendation

Hello AcuraZine,

I am new to the forum, however, not new to Acura.

One of my headlight bulbs is burning out, and I would like to get a recommendation on which bulbs I should consider purchasing.
I have a 2010 Acura TL, with converted fog lights to HIDs 5000K. My fogs have a tiny hint of blue but I was aiming for pure white (or hyper white?).
What do you recommend as far as something that will match my fogs with minimum hint of blue or yellow. I am looking for something bright and as white as possible.

Thank you,
CryptoNoobie

if you want to match your fog lights, you'll need to buy that brand of HID's..
Each manufacture has different manufacturing processes, which will make each light a different hue, even tho they are all labeled as 5000 Kelvin.

Just to note; 4300 Kelvin to 4500 Kelvin is stock.
4500 - 5500 kelvin would give off a "whiter/bluer hue"
and anything beyond 5500 kelvin will shift to purple.

but again, each manufacture has different processes...

Thanks for your explanation. I didn't realize that it varied as much per manufacturer. I'm mostly interested in purchasing a direct replacement bulbs without HID kit that would shine pure white. Any recommendations?

^ive had great luck with the Morimotos from www.theretrofitsource.com
they're only $50 and you can get them in the 5000 Kelvin range that will give off a "cool white light"

or you could spend the dough on a more expensive OEM set..the Osram CBI's (Cool Blue intensity) or even the newer Osram CBB's (Cool Blue Boost)

What life time did you experience with either of the bulbs?

in my 2006 Acura TL, I'm still rocking the OEM Osram set from 2006.

in my 2012 Kia Sportage; I bought 5000K morimotos in 2012. the bulbs are still going strong, but one of the ballast has failed.
