I'd be trading in a 2010 accord exl v6 no nav with 20kmiles on it. Trade in value 21.5
I've been debating if it's worthwhile. I know the differences on paper but I am not sure if they amount to the 2 grand a year I estimate owning the tl would cost - based on quoted insurance, calculated premium gasoline/mileage differences, and the difference in what they're worth now and estimated residual values.
I used edmunds past values to estimate how much value might be left if I were to trade either car in after 4years/60,000miles. Any one have a better thought on how much a 2010 exlv6 accord with 80,000 miles and a 2011 tl awd tech with 60,000 miles will be worth in 4/5 years?
Any thought on the upgrade?

These were the biggest differences I came up with. Just found myself trying to convince myself, it was worth the added 2-3g/yr
Accord vs TL
fwd vs awd
270hp vs 300hp
mynuvi vs navi system
the tl also has other features - 440w sound, hid, remote keyless entry, backup camera, ipod connection, more seat positions/memory, keyless start, better finish

I went from an 06 Accord EX V6 (non nav) to an 09 TL FWD and you pretty much nailed the feature bumps. The interior of the TL is amazing, sound quality is a ton better than my old accord, and the nav/backup camera is the perfect size/position.
I just went from that 09 FWD to an '11 SH-AWD. I paid just over 37k and got only 24k for the trade (38k miles). Your trade in numbers seem pretty solid, so its just a matter of actually spending the money on the trade. My old accord didnt get fantastic mileage (under 20?) and my SH-AWD is on par with that, the FWD TL got substantially better mileage for me. My insurance didn't go up drastically from Accord to TL.

IMO, it's worth the $
I went from a basic 05 Accord LX, to the AWD/Tech TL - had I known how much I LOVE all the creature comforts of the TL, I would have been more aggressive in saving $ and bought the TL sooner.
I was paying approx. $55/month for insurance for the Accord. The TL is going to cost around $91/month. Gas for the Accord (regular) was in the $40 range per fill up. The TL (premium) has been running me around $60. (I buy gas at least once a week, so this was a major expense I had to consider).
Honestly, as much as it "hurts" to drop $60 on gas (hello, I'd rather put that towards shoes, I'm a girl!), the love of driving the car and being ridiculously comfortable on my long commute overrides it all. I'm so glad I purchased a TL over a new Accord coupe (I have a soft spot for those Honda's ).
If you buy a TL, you will not be disappointed!

As much as I love TLs, I have to say that from a purely economic perspective, you're better off with your Accord. If that's the only factor to consider, I wouldn't trade. Besides, a 2010 Accord EXL V6 is a nice car.

Buy it, you know you want it.

TL is a much more of a car than the accord. Plus the AWD is worth it if you get a good amount of snow in your area.
Who cares about $2K more a year?

^^Have to agree. Yes, the TL is quite a bit nicer than your Accord (which itself is a nice car), but your Accord is only 2 years old and will run 150-200K miles with standard maintenance.
No one ever accumulated wealth trading in cars every 2 years.
But if you insist, yes the price you've been quoted is about as good as you'll get on a new AWD. And yes, it's a terrific car.
Good luck in your decision.

i say trade it for a tl and then keep the tl for 200k miles, it will be a much more fun car to keep for 200k miles than an accord, so in a way u recoup some of the loss u will take by trading but u can offset it by keeping the tl for a very long time
