Future Type-S Models

Does anyone have better information about when any new Type-S models will be available? Do you have any estimated specifications?

Will Acura ever offer a Type-S MDX or RDX?

How about a DVD player that plays through the front LCD?

Nobody knows if there will be or not for sure a Type-S for the TL. However not in the 2009.

Think we have to wait till the 2011 when the RL (or Legend, or how Acura will call it) 4.5L V8 will hit the market, than we could begin to hope for a stronger TL...
After the launch of the new RL, it's possible that the new MDX 2012 will get an entry V6 3.7L and a top range 4.5L V8, like the one on the RL.
I believe that the first Type-s in the Acura range will be for the TSX... In 2010

Type-S models usually occur later in the production cycle.

Doubt there will be any Type S MDX or RDX models.

Doubt that any automaker will make a DVD player that plays through the front LCD while the vehicle is in motion.

All my of course.

There are the TV LCD in the european BMW or Audi for example, but when the speed became more than 10km p.h. they switch off for not distracting the driver from the road...

but you have to remember, that is europe. Amercian law states there can be no moving images (navigation maps excluded) within the driver's view when driving. 10KPH is still driving. By BMW leaving these features in, they open themselves to some sort of liability.

I believe dvd through the front LCD would only be done if its something like what lexus does , where the car must be in park with the parking brakes on also for the dvd to play on nav/lcd screen .

Actually, come to think of it- this thread is off topic as it relates to the next generation TL.

To the OP- if you want, you can restart the thread in Car Talk in the Off Topic section of the forum.

This thread is closed.
