Front Door Courtesy Lights Replacement Covers

The clear plastic cover for the courtesy lights (lights that turn on directly under the door) on my front driver side fell off a few months ago. I tried not to mind it at first, but it's been bothering me for a while now I tried looking it up on one of the Acura OEM parts stores, but I could not find a direct replacement. The best that I could find is the following part:

LENS for 2012 Acura TL|34257-SNB-003

It seems a little outrageous for me to pay $21.00 of my hard-earned money for something that should only cost a few cents. I'm not even sure if it's the right part

Has anyone had to replace these covers before? Were you able to find the exact OEM part for it? Any help on this would be appreciated!

It's the light housing + lense. Not just a clear lense. $21 doesn't seem outrageous...

I'm surprised it's only $20.

Hmmm, it's been bothering you for a while, $20 to ease your mind seems like a decent price, not to mention the part is reasonably priced considering the cost of things today.

Why not just order these for $40 - Acura MDX, RLX, TL Door Projector (M013)-pair - Wind Fire Auto

Here's what it will give you:
1. Simple plug and play as a complete unit - easiest light upgrade you'll ever do
2. OEM light is so dim you hardly know it's there - this will give you quick upgrade to LED lights
3. Out of the box, it comes with 2 sets of logo chips - American flag and Acura logo
4. You get an extra free logo chip - go for your NFL team if you are a sports fan
5. If you don't want to use logo chips, then you can just leave logo chip out and use as LED lights

Nice options/flexibility for $40 if you ask me.

Not going to lie, those do look pretty sweet I'll definitely think about it, especially if I don't have any luck finding what I need at a junkyard.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Anyone have experience with these? I have heard horror stories of people shorting out the fusebox when trying to replace those LEDS.

I've had mine in for over a month now and have had no issues. Like I stated above, installation was a breeze as you swap the whole lighting assembly. The stories I've read with people shorting out their fusebox has been when they were replacing the OEM bulb on the OEM housing with LED's. My brother also has these in his Mercedes for 5-6 months with no issues.

I've had them in my car for almost 6 months, just swapped out the logo chips for something different too. Haven't had any issues. If you're overly worried about shorting something out, just unhook the negative battery terminal to eliminate any shorting risks.

Did the same thing and I think it was the same price. Just threw it out there on a whim and they were at my doorstep a few days later. Lol.

I just ordered them from Amazon last week - came out to $33. They look pretty sweet and definitely add a custom look to the ride.
