Dumb Question on the shift lever.

I was talking to the Acura part department, on multiple situation they have been wrong, Like not knowing about ATF filter on the car. One the guys mentioned about upgrading the shift knob and was going to give a large discount for it. I thought he was talking about the wood one. However I got the feeling he thought there was 3 different shift knobs. The stock AT knob (which I thought was the leather one), the leather AT knob, and Wood AT knob. He talked about the leather one being an upgrade to what came with the car. I have 13 TL Advance. Someone tell me he is wrong and there are only 2.

Unfortunately, most of those parts guys aren't experts. They're sales people who strongly rely on their computers to know about the cars and parts they sell. He probably pulled up compatible parts for 2013 TL and it listed 3 knobs and tried to sell you something that was in stock at the back at a great discount. Maybe he's talking about the Sport Leather Knob (08U92-TL2-210)? I believe it's for the TSX but fits the 4th gen TL as well.

There are three knobs available.
1. leather, no contrast stitching, generally comes on Base models.
2. :Leather WITH contrast stitching usually comes on Advanced or Elite models
3. Leather and WoodGrain, usually comes on Special Edition models.

and Ive even seen a 4th version, BY ACURA as the Upgrade of ALL upgrades which is PERFORATED leather, Contrast Stitching.
If you want parts numbers for each let m eknow

Can you let us know the part number for the 4th version? I've been looking to change my shift knob out for something else and perforated leather sounds good. Thanks!

What are the other part numbers? I can't seem to find the "shift lever" category. Finding parts on these OEM sites can be a pain. Especially if the part could potentially fit into several different categories.....

Edit: Found it. "Select Lever" in "Chassis" (? )

I'm not an automotive genius, but I'm pretty sure the AT shift lever isn't part of the chassis. First place to find this should be "interior". Second possibility "Transmission - Automatic". But Chassis? Dafuq?

May I ask why replacing? I often think about this because the interior of my 2013 TL is now full of different squeaks and rattles in lots of different places and it drives me absolutely nuts. Especially because they all happen at different times and im the type of person that once I hear it there is no going back i literally just single it out even over music. I'm quite shocked at how poorly it holding together in terms of squeaks and rattle but then again I take the car lots of places it was not designed to go and it is fairly high Mileage for a 2013 so perhaps shouldnt be too surprised.

mine is purely for aesthetic reasons. I love the look and feel of a new panel finish. Luckily I have no squeaks or rattles...EXCEPT fo r that damned sunglass holder. HATE THAT THING!
BUt unsightly rubbed or chipped interior panels drives me nuts. Also nuts and bolts get loose, and i have the 19" sports tires so I feel EVERY SINGLE bump in the road. I have tightened my glove box MANY times.
Luckily the doors dont rattle. I have a 2012 and its pretty silent as far as noises from the interior cabin
