Driver Side Mirror Housing Replacement / Gap Between Mirror Edge and Housing

Hello.

Does anyone know where I can find information on how to remove / replace only the outer housing on the left / driver side mirror?

I don't see how and why I would need to remove the entire mirror from the door panel etc...

Also,
Is it normal to have a gap between the inside glass portion edge and the housing? I want to make sure mine is normal compared to others.

Any help on the housing replacement would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Here is a diagram of the mirror. Maybe someone can provide more detail, but I still think your going to have to take it off the car in order to take it apart.

Thanks.

Yea I got a similar one from the Acura eStore. Thats insane if you have to remove the door panel. There has to be an easier way. Its only the shell / housing that I need to replace. Not the guts inside the mirror.

Do you know where I can get the 2010 TL Service Manual?

I guess it depends on how much of a gap you're talking about. There has to be some gap because the mirror needs to move around in there. The way I have my mirrors aligned there's actually a rather significant gap because the mirrors face pretty for out to either side.

Would you mind putting up a picture of yours?

Thanks!
