Do you use your oil gauge to decide when to change oil?

I have an '09 Acura TL w/tech package and I was wondering when I should change my oil? Do I just wait for them to tell me on the gauge?

I've driven about 2,500 miles since I got my CPO Acura, and the gauge says its 60%?

the oil life monitor observes conditions like: idle time, engine revs, and some other stuff stated in the owners manual.

so if you drive all highway without touching vtec your oil life will decrease slowly.
drive city while revving to 4-7k and the oil life will decrease dramatically.

I believe most people get about 6-7000 miles out of their oil before the it indicates time to change

I dont know when it engages in the 4th gen.
somewhere around 4k-5k RPM.

^only if you have the need for speed.

at 4-7k RPM is where you make the most power. hence why the oil life will decrease significantly.
also, you will use more fuel.

waiting until the oil life goes to 15% will also show a code that will let you know what service needs to done.
