By design or flaw?

I just accidentally found the gap/space between the center arm rest to the inner side of the seats (driver and passenger) is very different. Looks like mis-aligned, but I wonder if this is by design...

Both seats are at the identical position...
Could anyone check on yours please?

Mine is exactly like that actually the center armrest rubs against the passenger seat when you open it.I also noticed that the handbrake booth rubs against the slot in the center console and it is starting to tear.

My center arm rest also rub against the passenger seat, while there is about a finger wide between the arm rest and the driver seat...
I'll check my handbrake later I get into the car...

My 2010 has neither of those issues? The center armrest has a figers space between both seats and no issues with the handbrake.

Funny that you posted this, after 4 years I just noticed this on the RDX yesterday. Gap on drivers side, no gap on passenger. Same on both cars.

normally there is some give in the bracket that holds down the center console, so maybe it's misadjusted (or got pushed over somehow)

interesting... seems like it's nothing to do with the model year...
I thought this part should be a precision fit when assembly, hard to imagine this kind of random observation...

it is relitively, but there is also some play though for when the tolerances don't add up precisely

and maybe the people's who's are shifted, is the day the fat guy was working, and sat down in there car...... (or got shifted from the driver leaning on it over time)

In my case it's the fat guy driving the car!

Are you having sleepless nights because of this?
