Change Oil Warning

My Change oil warning indicator came on with 10% on my 2012 TL. I tried scheduling with my dealer but they can't get me a loaner until 4 weeks out. I'm assuming its ok to wait even if the warning percentage drops to zero as long as my oil level is ok. Would you agree? My assumption is that the warning is based on driving characteristics and the oil should be fine for a few weeks.

Moving to the TL forum so other owners can chime in... but I would think as long as your oil level is good, you'll be OK. It's likely just a "timer" that illuminates after a certain number of miles and not necessarily indicative of the exact oil wear.

It calculates the oil life based on miles driven. You'll be fine as long as the level looks good.

I'm not sure if the dealer offers you free oil changes or what, but you could certainly find a 3rd party with availability before that.

Acura shouldn't give you any trouble regarding warranties as long as you keep up on maintenance at a reputable shop!

Hope that helps.

Do you not have a 10 minute oil change place near you? Why would you need a loaner for an oil change?

I'm surprised they even offer loaners for an oil change

Yeah. Many dealers even advertise their "express oil change service" and guarantee it won't take more than an hour.

This topic has been beat to death in various threads.
New oil is better than old oil.
I never let mine go below 40% on the MID.

It's been beaten to death, but guess if you change the oil at 40% the MID means nothing.
