Hello all:

I am buying a used 2012 Acura TL and wanted to confirm if the Blind Spot Monitoring System is supposed to make a sound if car is in the way?

The TL I test drove it was silent and if a car is in the blind spot while stationary it does not light up. But when in motion it does. Is this normal?

Also it drive fine I have a TSX already expected, however anything in particular you think I need to look for?

I did notice a constant rattle/buzz sound from the passenger door but the dealer said they will take care of it.

The Blind Spot Monitoring System is working normally. It doesn't make any sounds, only lights up when the car is moving and when it detects something in the driver's blind spot. If you put your signal on and there's something in your blind spot, the light will flash rapidly alerting you of impending collision.

If its a fwd with the 3.5L You don't have to look out for much. If its at an acura dealer I would ask if they've performed the most recent software upgrade to the transmission and performed a transmission fluid change. Also make sure it has had the drivers airbag recall performed.

Also, if you can have the service history pulled. Even if buying from a private seller, most dealers will pull it for you if you give them the VIN and tell them you plan to service it there.
