Best way to 0-60 an auto TL?
I want to get a good read on my performance upgrades by clocking a serious 0-60 with my TL SH-AWD Automatic. This only issue I have is that even with the VSA off, I still have a hesitation off the line. After the half second or so hesitation, the car throws you back in your seat. I know it's not an issue of low end torque or lack of power, it feels more like the ECU or something is retarding the torque off the line. Any insight? I am a noob when it comes to such things.

Ive gotten the best results when launching the car at 1000rpm. I believe its called "brake torquing". Hold the brake and gas at the same time at 1000rpm and then let it rip. Also, make sure its in S mode and using the paddles.

1) Switch to Sequential Sportshift and press on the downshift paddle once to get a M1 in your gear selection window;
2) Hold the brake and press the gas until you hit 1200 RPM and launch. Anything over that will cause the traany to shift to 2nd gear, then to 1, killing your times.
3) I prefer to squeeze the gas (quickly tthough) instead of just putting the pedal to the metal, it's much smoother and give the best results imho.
Or you can do a 0-60 with a 1feet rollout like at the drag strip also, your choice.
Are you using all-season tires or real summer tires? Oh yeah VSA off of course
Hope it helps!

You all neglected to give a disclaimer about running a 0-60 on the car with a brake torque launch. You can really fuck up your tranny, torque converter, etc by putting it under this kind of strain. If there is a flaw in the system, doing this move will bring it out for sure. Anyone remember the '01-'02 tranny issues???:thumbsdow

what's the point of doing a 0-60 run with your $40k+ luxury car? it's already documented by car mags and other forum members, not like doing a run will change how fast your car is.. just saying.

Brake torquing will be your best bet, but yeah, do it at your own risk, your torque converter won't like it very much.

I'm not bashing you my friend, I'm just explaining it.
And yes, search a thread by Wavehogger about a 0-60 in 5.44sec.

SSG - Be sure to read through the entire thread. I made some discoveries over time and it's all in there as you get down the thread a bit. Enjoy!
