"Baby" Mods?
#1
Hi,
Well per my previous -different- thread's, I am the new owner of a used 2012 TL SW-AWD w/ Tech Package - Graphine Luster Metallic/Ebony Interior.
I am searching all this threads for mods done - however, they are old stuff and want to see now that the car has been out for 2+ years whats avaialble.
I got it my baby on Wed and since then i have done 2 "baby" mods -
1. Tinted my windows: "Limo" back 2, "Dark" front 2.
2. Changed the trunk bulb to Xenon White LED
3. Pending mail delivery - Changing the front two doors bulbs to LED.
4. Considering - Changing the fog lights to LED's.
Any other suggestions?
sorry for my grammar - trying to type while on the phone is not good.

springs from H&R are about $250 a set and will make the car look a lot better.
the OEM body kit will run you about $800'ish shipped and makes the car look even better!
bolt on mods like intake/jpipe/exhaust make it sound neat but it's up for debate as to whether it really does a whole lot for performance...
if you have the money - buy coilovers instead of just springs. a set of coilovers will run you about $1000. I went the springs route... and am happy with it for the etime being - it's a low dollar alternative..but a lot of people who do springs eventually upgrade to coils.. if yo have the cash on the front end. just do it right.
good luck. it's a great car.. i've had mine a little over a year and I still really enjoy it.
it's not the fastest car .. fast enough though... but the handling is what I really like. for a relatively heavy/large sedan it will flat out rip throuhg turns.. SH-AWD is awesome.

LEDs have a very directional output and have a very low output in terms of lumens. They work good for marking lights like DRLs, turn signals and side markers but do little to light up the road (unless you get something like the triton x3s). Your better off with an HID or standard filament upgrade for you fogs if you want them to remain useful.
I think vivmike is right, swap out some speakers or put a real subwoofer in. Otherwise get some high flow pre-cats in or a j-pipe. People have put Takeda intakes in but the performance gains are negligible.

Welcome Pearl, you're doing fine. "Baby" mods, to start off with, are just fine.
Check out my signature-you'll get lots of ideas for both big and little mods. Check out "My Garage" for pictures too.

+1 on the LED Fogs being a terrible Idea... HID with a relay harness the only way to go but buy the matching bulbs for your heads when you do it so they match

^ Again, good advice.
Did the HiD's on the RDX fogs, wow. Couldn't be happier. This is the sort of mod that really pays off, especially if you live in a fog prone area such as I.

Stock headlights are 4300k. It's hard to match the headlights and fogs because the former have a projector.
I have 6k in both and the fogs definitely have more blue. It still looks much better than OEM but don't expect a perfect match.

Yeah most just replace the stock bulb then a full kit on the Fog's so they match... I've seen one other person saying the fogs were to blue, he ordered an 8000k D2S for the heads and says it matched his 6000k Fogs better... but he's under the impression they sent him an 8000k Fog set when he bought them... not the Projector vs Reflector Bucket... Sucks I'm just reading this cause I just ordered 6000k for both about 5 minutes ago...
