B12 Confusion

B12 Confusion
I have a 10 SH-AWD TL and an 11 MDX. With the MDX the MID B12 came on at approximately 14k miles. The TL at the time had 24k miles and I never got a B12. So I changed both rear difs with Acura fluid per the DIY posted on this site.
My TL now has 30k miles and I just got the B12. So does the MID monitor the actual fluid and sense if its dirty or just goes off of miles? Why would it be kicking on at 30k miles, is this because its for the first change and doesn't know I changed it or do I need to change it again?
Note: all oil changes in the TL were done per the mid except for the second change, which was done at 40% because I had a free oil change. not sure if this had any impact.

We are in the process of buying a TL. From reading here about the MID it only bases its info on miles, RPM, etc... NOT the actual condition of a fluid. So, as far as the MID is concerned you didn't change it. I would think there is some way to update the MID that it was changed but someone else will have to fill that part in.

2G TLX-S
If the dealership reset the MID during the 2nd change at 40% oil life, then all future service schedules calculated by the MID will be changed accordingly.
