Attracted to a Crystal Black Pearl 2012 TL
Hi Acurazine. I'm new here (first post) so a little background. I have leased a 2008 Laguna Blue Pearl AP2, owned a 2007 RDX, and traded my 07 Si sedan today for a 2012 MDX w/ Tech package. To say I'm a honda/acura fan/enthusiast would be an understatement. I recommend family members to check out Acuras. They end up buying them.
Anyways so there I was in the Acura dealer to finish the paperwork and take delivery of the MDX, the 2012 TL in black was outside. So I was checking out the exterior and I think I am smitten. I didn't want a stick car that was too long in length but it is starting to look real good. I think I want a 6MT SHAWD.

4G TL looks it's best in CBP, IMHO.

This is my 2nd 4G TL and because it's black very hard to keep clean, but I must say now that I'm washing her I'm being a bit more careful with the products i use and the end result is a beautiful looking TL. There is nothing like a clean and shinny black car.

If you want a car that shifts just as good (if not better) than your AP2 - and can carry the kids and groceries - get the 6MT TL.
I absolutely love mine - and even when I start thinking about other cars, it's hard to let mine go - there are always reasons why other cars just can't win for me right now (Worse gas mileage, questionable long term maint, expensive, etc, etc.)

Love my 6MT.....best car i've owned. I agree black looks awsome, but beware of scratch marks, swirls etc. I sold my 2010 CBP because of the issue. Couldn't deal with it anymore, and i'm as religious as you get with detailing and cleaning my cars. I went with the 2012 BWP 6MT. Best choice i ever made, White is amazing!

I always had an easy time buying a new car. Black on black. Made it easy each time. A few weeks ago I traded in my CBP 2009 TL for a 2012 Silver Moon. I really like the look of the silver and it sure is easier to keep clean. There is nothing sharper than a shiny black car but the effort is huge.

Welcome LP-pull the trigger on the TL!

I felt pretty much the same way. I got my wife the MDX to haul the kids around in and just loved to drive it. Well I started to hate my little gti daily driver and decided what the hell I want myself another Acura.

MDX and a TL SH-AWD 6MT? I'd call that one sweet garage! I got black and love it. My past 2 cars were both black...very classy. When I was looking I noticed that most, if not all, of the stock photo pics (even on the Acura website) seem to fail to capture the shine in that "crystal" black. Always look a little hazey. Fortunately not at all the case in person. Anyone ever notice that?

I will say this....As much as I love my 2012 TL....I am really enjoying my 2013 RDX AWD as well....too different sets of wheels for different purposes, but man Acura hit a home run with this one!

sorry to hijack thread, but how do you know they are getting rid of dual exhaust?? I love dual...
Thanks my friend...It is a fine vehicle that's for sure! I am eagerly awaiting to see what the 5G will look like, especially without the dual exhaust tips since Acura is doing away with them. Just a few more months before we see what the MDX will look like, and what features it will have. These are exiting times for Acura/Honda that's for sure. Even the RLX will be exciting to see when it comes out.

The 6MT is a natural upgrade from AP2. The engine revs as eagerly but cut off at almost 7k instead of 8k. Ride is actually stiff considering luxury position. The TL drives small imho. The gas pedal is anchored to the floor, hence easier heel and toe. No regrets.

Graphite Luster Metallic with black interior...I'm biased
Changes color depending on the time of day, sometimes gray, sometimes blue, and at night, may as well be black

Black is beautiful.....when it is clean. But a black car is very high maintenance. Every little clear coat scratch or swirl will show, and any dirt sticks out like....dirt.
I previously owned a pmm sh-awd TL, and now own a black BMW 535i. While I love the 5 series, I wish I would have gotten a grey or silver color (this is after spending 2 hours cleaning and detailing the car this morning).
But no doubt, a black TL is sharp lookin.
