Any members intalled rear deck lid spoiler on their 4G TL base please post some pictu

Dear all AcuraZine members
I have a 09 TL base model without a rear deck lid spoiler
I really like the look of the TL with a rear deck lid spoiler on it
I'm in the market for a OEM or aftermarket one from eBay
Any members have installed one on their base TL please post some pictures or any advises whether to get the aftermarket or OEM one. I seen aftermarket one on eBay for $138 painted or $300 plus on OEM one.
Is it OK to just install it with automobile 3M adhesive or we have to drill some holes on the trunk
Any input is greatly appreciated.

For OEM, you would need to drill holes in the trunk. They give you all the parts needed.

I don't know about aftermarket though. I would imagine it's some form of adhesive. If drilling is required then I would simply get the OEM spoiler.

TLJVN,

One thread, not three, should be sufficient to cover your needs on questions regarding the rear deck lid on the 4G. Please stop making new ones, it only adds to the clutter on the forum.

make sure you guys get a TECH wing and not the base wing option.

there is a difference in size.

Except what will one do with the camera and trunk pop button also on the Tech wing? This is the main reason why they are a bit different. Not by much, but enough.

if you like the base optional lip wing.. go ahead and get it.. its all up to your liking.. but refer to my post here on the difference.

I was looking into this myself, great info about the difference in sizes.

Just to add if you buy the tech wing, it will have a hole for the camera and a hole for the release button.

FYI, you might have to get that taken care of. That's what I'm considering if I decide to go with the tech. I'm also wondering if 3m tape will be sufficient to hold it.

just drill the holes and do it properly.. personally i hate people that use shortcuts when it comes to cars.. either you do it the right way or not at all.
