Air intake area next to fog lights on 09-11 SH-AWD models
Ok - not sure if that's the technical term for it - I am refering to that grill/air intake are between the fog lights. On the 3rd gen TL I used chrome door edging to accent this area. On the 4th gen (09-11) the fog lights have that gray trim around the lights, but the air intake grill area is all black. Has anyone tried to "extend" the gray horizontal line across the air intake area? I think it would look sharp, but wanted to check if anyone here has tried it (or if you think it's a bad idea, please share feedback)

To clarify my earlier post - on the 3rd gen TLs (lower air intake area on the front bumper, a few people did a simple mod by taking a chrome door edge and applying it to the horizontal "fin" on both air intake areas. This incorporated the same horizontal chrome lines that were in the side blinkers. The 2007, 2008 TLs incorporated this element (along with the fog lights).
In the 4th gen the fog lights have this gray trim, while the air intake is all black. The 2012 have a horizontal trim accent that looks neater. Wasn't sure if anyone has tried to do this on the 2009 -2011 TLs (with SH-AWD). The horizontal fin is too think for door edging, so I am thinking it would have to be painted on)

Give it try. Sounds like it should be a relatively low cost mod and reasonably easy to reverse.

(Not really a "problem" though. Moved to 4G TL main forum.)
