Hey guys I'm new here and have a question. I bought my car as pre-owned back in May 2015. I noticed that transmission shifts from first gear into higher pretty quick. I mean as soon as I hit 10-15 mph it already shifts into second gear and I find it odd. Is it normal or my transmission is telling me something. I believe transmission fluid was never changed. Current mileage 36200. Thanks for your help.

I wonder if it's one of two things, but others might know better than I.

1. The previous owner drove like a granny and the car learned this habit.
2. Your throttle was reset recently and taught to drive like a granny.

You can try and teach your car your driving style and shift at higher RPM based on #2.

I think this is how you do it... (Might be wrong)

- Push the push start button without the brake (engine not on, just electronics)
- Push the accelerator down for 30 seconds (engine not on, so shouldn't be revving)
- Push the push start button again so car turns off.
- Start car normally and drive the way you want to. Car should learn your style within a few hours or days?

If you do something weird like accidentally teach it rush hours bumper to bumper traffic driving, reset again and try again with better conditions. I do not know if the throttle learning can be unique to driver 1 and 2.

Don't know how to edit... but to fix a minor error in the earlier post, you have to tap the push button twice to get the electronics on (radio, satellite etc.). Otherwise, it will just tell you to push the push button + brake and I don't believe the throttle reset will work.
