My 07 Type-s got stollen, and I have replacement cost insurance. Dealer called me and they say that the equivalent to the type-s is the base+tech package. I would have thought that it would be the AWD+tech because of the side skirt and quad muffler and that in 07 type-s, I think that it was the top model of a TL.

What do you guys think and advise.

I think the 07/08 TL Type S is close in terms of features to the 09 TL Tech. 3.5 liter V6, Nav, FWD etc. Pricing wise, The 09 TL Tech is actually higher in price than the 07/08 TL Type S.

So yes, I would say your dealership is pretty close in what they said.

i think you misunderstood "cost equivalence". that doesnt mean the same as getting an equivalent model replacement. they price a TL that would be close to what your TL-S cost, and thats what they will get as an equivalent vehicle in terms of cost.

they are right by looking at price, not equipment. i dont see anything wrong with what they are doing.

Sorry to hear that your S got stolen. I'm w/ others though. I think the dealer is doing the right thing. Do you like the 4G enough to replace your 07 or are you going w/ a different car?

i loved my 07. I tested the 09 and although it is a fantastic car, the sport out of this model has been taken out. This is my opinion.

Will I go with a 09 TL, if I don't want to loose much of the money(replacement cost) and I might have no choice. If I decide to go with another car outside the Acura family, I don't think they will give me the full value of 09 TL Tech. They say that they might be able to buy back the car at a lower cost, so I loose arround the 3K.

I will get all the info with the numbers next week. Let you know what I will do.
