Would there be interest? TSX Replica

This is a two parter.

First the business, Supershyguy has made replica Kits for many vehicles out of Canada. I own one on my corolla and many clubs voutch for the direct fitment. He has just done an RSX replica for those guys take a look:

He has asked whether or not there is a market for his interest in doing the TSX. I have look through three other forums and this same questions comes up all the time so it's out there. Where/who/ and we all know $$ and the nice ones are costing a pretty penny.

Do you think his replicating a TSX lip for the 06 with no fog light interference would be a great idea? (I do but I'm one person)

I will email the thread link over to him so he can check it out, and I ask that if you guys and gals are on any other TSX boards to link it over and see what kind of input we can get. Supershyguy can determine and talk on this more and perhaps run us a pricing idea versus what's out there. Please comment away and his shops work can be backed by many different cars over the net consistantly.

Then my comment:
After some of my previous posts about 06 and not getting lip kit love, it has been addressed to get the Euro R. We believe you and your stressing of it. The only problem is when someone mentions it, there is 5 people behind that mention that "If it were me I wouldn't get the Euro R, I'd get the Mugen this or Kenstyle that. . . " so it is counter productive. And when there is a link to a place that has a Euro R, NO PICTURES. And it's a spagetti(sp) mess trying to find a certain pic of a certain kit on the forum, less some one can get the other varieties in the Gallery Sticky Thread. So we believe in the Euro R but if you read the threads you'd still be confused on it being NICE and where to get a look at one along with someone saying it doesn't fit the US market cars.?!

well with the shortage of lips that that don't interfere with the factory fogs, i think a replica lip kit would be an awesome idea as long as this guy is as good as you say. what kit would he be replicating?

Am I the only one extremely confused by this post? I know you're trying to gauge interest on whether your friend's shop should replicate some TSX lips, but which one is he interested in? The 2006 Euro-R? The 2004/5 Euro-R? Would it be the whole kit or just the front lip?

We can try not to bitch like you said, but it would help if you laid it out more clearly.

edit: or do you just mean a replica of the 2006 OEM kit?

I forgot, here's just a quick pic of my hoop ride and my hoop ride tuner off to the side (one of them) .

I linked over the thread and told ShyGuy to put up the specifics on the lip he is wanting to replicate. I personally have his lip kit for an 01 Corolla and am being shipped another style for the 95 corolla and they are actually remakes of the Tom's style work we can no longer get here in the states regularly. I know they are corolla's but you'd get the idea and I've seen his work on other cars non-toyota.

I hear your confusion and that's why I want to make clear I don't know Shyguy personally but know many people who deal with him regularly and over many years. Also that I didn't say which he is to replicate so he can get on and tell us, as I only asked him about lip kits by a freak accident when I read in a random post him asking about lips in general for TSX. I just happened to say I saw the comment and wondered what he was thinkig. So you'll have to wait for him to answer your questions. I Just started the thread so they can be asked.

I believe 2006/2007 and however long, since that is the problem with the fog lights. You 04/05 guys got enough support with some nice kits. But my guess would be he may actually work on one then do the other if the 04/05 people were still around and wanting it as well, but the demand may be lower as it has been a couple years for people to buy new cars and other kits. Like I said, I am no longer running the thread. I guess we shall just have to wait and see.

We'll have to wait for this "ShyGuy" character to show up and tell us. I could imagine there being some interest in a 2006 Euro-R replica though. Something we could get state-side for a lot less coin.

Whats up guys. I can basily replicate any kit for you guys. I just need to know the demand before I can start on anything.

so I guess there would be more interest on 06 kits?

I am not even sure what kit you guys like the best. Maybe we can throw some ideas around.

any pictures of all the lip kits you guys are interested in?

Cool! Nice to see more products available for the TSX. Just a friendly reminder that before you start selling the products on the site, please get in touch with the site admin to make the proper arrangement.

You make it fit the stock 06 fog lights and I'll volunteer for the first purchase, fitment, and pics. The guinea pig. I think there have been some good points and questions. Now it just takes getting enough people to chime in to get a good majority opinion, I'll try to copy and paste this link on other TSX boards soon when I search for them, to get more input and worth the time.

FWIW, I would take an OEM kit over any replica because its 1) poly and 2) prepainted perfectly.

Now if you talking about a Mugen, or some other aftermarket that is already fiberglass and unpainted, then that's a good place to start for a replica

Hmm...looks like parts from the 02 Acura EL. WHICH as someone previously asked, is a Civic done up. Rather than having the same Civic EX, we have the Acura EL, complete with leather and all the Acura goodies. It's now known as the CSX (Civic EX) and CSX Type S (Civic SI Sedan).

Notice the front of his RSX and the front of these ELs. (Two of these three are modded, nor are these any of mine, just random ones i found on the internet.).

The grill, lights (EL has two that are white and the third is yellow, where as the RSX above has three white ones.), and seems kit as well as hood seem to be taken from here. And this being a Canadian exclusive car, it explains that the parts are probably coming from Acura and since the guy is in Canada..works out.

I believe the EL uses JDM Civics from Europe..explains the Euro R look

Wow this was just a useless post...haha. oh well maybe someone will get information out of it. Hah.

design, fitment. there's different grades of fiberglass, supposedly the mugen kits are pretty pliable, not prone to cracking

Could an admin add a poll to the front of this post? This guy is asking for input and I think we should give it to him.

Poll: Would you be most interested in a replica kit of:
Options:
- 04/05 Euro R
- 06 Euro R
- 04/05 Mugen
- 06 Mugen
- 04/05 OEM USDM
- 06 OEM USDM

I'm not including kenstyle cause it sounds like he's talking of making lips only, not bumper replacements. That also precludes both full Mugen bumpers, unless he states otherwise.

Also to be answered, if you were to replicate these, would it just be for the front lips, or for the whole kit, sides and rear included.

if you replicate the 06 mugen front lip you're still gonna have to cut your front bumper. you gotta find a way to make the cutout opening on the lip more inwards so the factory fogs don't get blocked by the lip. also if you do make a replica and are unable to re-adjust it, people are gonna have to buy the fog light brackets to adjust to the opening provided on the lip. here's some pics of what i'm talking about...

*note the gap i was talking about. this is where you'd have to make the cutout more inwards so the factory fogs don't get blocked.... good luck!!

Very easy to adjust the cut out for me. if thats the one everyone likes I can make it fit with out changing anything to the bumper

the 04-05 Mugen fits 06 TSX and vice versa (not the lips however), so that kit could fit 06's too

I believe they are the same. The only confused ppl had was the front end because it was little than 04-05 but side and back are same. After xizor and Reach doing little testing. They are the same so... They should fit fine.

I'm not sure if the backs fit the same actually. Someone said the 06 Euro-R needs modification to fit on the 04/05 I think
