VSA Light

I forget but does the VSA button on the left of the steering wheel light up? The reason I am asking is because I know the buttons for the moon roof light up but not the VSA button and I forget if it's suppose to light up or not? BTW, I own an 04 TSX.

I figured they both have to light up. I guess it's time to replace the bulb in there I just swapped out the bulb for the light under the automatic shift knob for all the gears and it was kind of a pain in the @$$ because I had to remove the parts of the center console.

I never even noticed. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm driving at night.

Mine's out too. Although both of my heated seat lights were out. Plus I have a few others out on the window switch panel. The bulbs are easy to change...it's getting to them that makes them a pain.

Exactly, the bulbs are easy to replace. Getting to them is definitely the hardest part sometimes.

DYI: VSA Light Bulb

I decided to write up a short DYI on the replacement of the VSA light bulb and you could also use this to replace the light bulb of the moonroof if that one is dead. The part that you need to purchase is: 35851-SDA-A01 and it was around $5. Without further ado here is the DYI.

This is a picture of the part number:

This is the picture of the bulb:

Where the arrows are pointing to at the bottom there are two holes and I just simply stuck my fingers in there and pushed the whole assembly towards me and it just came out. It was kind of hard at first but it's not to bad.

Picture of the whole assembly:

I disconnected the adapters to gain access to the button for the VSA:

Picture from the top:

There are two tabs; one on the top and one at the bottom. You must push them down and push the button outward towards you.

Replace this bulb with a flat head screw driver with the new one you just bought. Once you replace install everything in reverse order and now everything is alright in the world Hope this helps out some of you with the same issue as me.

BTW, this is the bulb part# for the sun roof button, just in case somebody wants to replace that one since they are different; 35850-SDA-A01.

my vsa, moonroof, AND seat heats are all out :\ too lazy to swap em out lol.

I believe I got the bulbs at radioshack for ~2$ (Pack of 2)? doesn't come with the blue piece tho so it isn't a plug and play like yours.

Come on, it will probably only take about under 10 minutes to swap out the bulbs for the VSA and moon roof. The buttons for the heated seats is a pain in the arse because you have to remove the center console section and if I remember correctly I had to remove the cup holder?

This is a good DIY tutorial. I used it to replace my VSA and Sunroof lights. It's important to note that you need to use a flathead screwdriver to twist the base of the bulb and I used a pair of tweezers to pull it out.

I went to radioshack and purchased the same bulb above but it had an amber look instead of the white. Needless to say it drove me crazy.

I want to change all of my stereo, door and dash lights to blue leds.. I did some looking around and found out that the lights for the VSA/Sunroof lights are 3mm.

I am going to order some from here http://www.oznium.com/led and some from http://www.superbrightleds.com/leds.htm#threemm just to see which ones are better. I will let you guys know.

I did buy some from superbrightleds.com these pictured below but they are too long and don't fit in the VSA tab and barely fit in the Sunroof tab.. In the sunroof tab it only really lights up the middle of the three lights.

In the sunroof tab it only really lights up the middle of the three lights. Pictured below.

I would like to replace my stereo lights to blue.. I saw a forum somewhere that had a DIY if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I did a diy for these and the heated seat light.

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/diy-vsa-moonroof-heater-gear-shift-lights-679654/

The radio is quite harder to do it involves soldering and removing resistor led.
