Hey guys, my name's Dylan and I'm currently doing some research into my next vehicle. I've owned Civics for the entirety of life as a driver and I was looking to make the jump into something a little classier while still sticking a somewhat familiar power train (mmm.... K24.) So let's get this started.
1) How many km/miles do you have and what mechanical issues have you run into?
2) I'm a big sound quality guy so how is the sound proofing on these? Also, what is required to get an aftermarket deck into this thing? It looks like the stock stereo is moulded right into the dash.
3) Are there any differences in the first gen TSX's body styling, features, or performance that they introduced midway through it's run? For example The 01-05 Civic's front end and tail lights change between the 01-03 and 04-05.
4) How does this engine respond to just bolt ons(I/H/E)? My engine requires boost or a bottle with a full rebuild to get anything out of it so if I can stick to the basics, a K-pro, and a nice tune or something similar and still get some fun numbers I'd be stoked.
5) Am I able to swap a K20a head on there and have a sexy 9000rpm redline to play with?
6) Boost! Are there any reliable turbo kits available that are all pre-piped for the TSX?

Sorry for the long winded first post I just know that no one knows their cars like tuners and enthusiasts. Thank you so much for enduring and I hope to see you guys back here with a TSX of my own in the near future.

the 04-05 are a little different than the 06-08. nothing big but subtle changes that makes it different. k series motors are rather reliable when it comes down to it and can be very productive with a turbo. they dont make pre piped turbo kits but do have some rather simple supercharger kits that work well. if you wonder what a turbo kit would do for a tsx, just look up on youtube what people have done. good luck hunting

own a 100% stock 06 tsx. Besides the lousy paint that chips easy and the foglights that cracked (replaced under warranty and now have rockblocker on them) the car has been problem free after almost 120,000 miles. excellent car.

Normally I dont critique people for stuff like this...but youre asking and concerned about the car's reliability, yet youre looking to boost it AND tweak the engine so it can rev TWO GRAND more RPMs than what it was designed for?

Reliability is great. Had mine 2 years and have had zero issues. On performance it's decent. I had an 08 Si sedan before this car and they are very similar. The TSX is quiet and nicer inside than the Si was by far.Can't say anything about engine performance enhancers b/c I mainly do suspension enhancements since I'm in the mountains. The TSX will take you out of "tinnie bobber's car" class to "refined luxury but I still want to have fun" class. Just my opinion.

Well, I'm wondering about reliability because the only TSX's in my price range usually have between 120-150,000 km on them.
As for asking about the big hp gains, I'd just like to know what I can do with the car for when it comes time for a rebuild or if I run into a point in my life where I can have a daily driver as well as a project car. A dude can dream can't he?
I've had lots of time playing around with D series engines but the K's are foreign territory to me. The engine will probably never see anything exotic like boost or a head swap but I'd like to know that the options are there for interest's sake.

The TSX is a nice car. I've owned a Civic and RSX in the past and the TSX has a much more comfortable ride quality. I test drove a TL before the TSX and was not impressed, but the TSX seemed just right. It's not
too big and heavy to feel agile yet still provides a nice ride.
