there is real leather in the TSX. someone made a thread about it a while back (davidspaulding?) about the poke test. if you poke the leather and it wrinkles up, it's real. if you poke and it stretches, it's not real.
the real leather that i can at least determine would be the head rests for the front seats (all around), the perforated sections that run in the middle of your front and back seats along with the sides areas surrounding those areas, the back head rest (front part only), and maybe the steering wheel and shifter.

im reffering to 05 tsx leather vs 05 accords.
ive seen a lot of 05 gen accords and their leather cracks so easy and shows obvious wear, i just wonder if the tsx will be like that too.

it is similar with most leather.
it is all about how you take care of it.
treat it like cloth and it will look like crap.
treat it like leather and you are good to go.
it needs to be cleaned with a pH balanced cleaner and
then conditioned about once a month.
my seats look brand new after one year because
of proper care.

sure does.
I am having all of it removed early next year.
I'm replacing it with Katzkin Tuscany leather.
that stuff is super, super nice.
except for my front seats, those will be aftermarket.
Katzkin doesn't make a pattern for the TSX though, so all
the work needs to be done by hand, one off, with hides.
no pre-made covers for our car. guess it's not popular enough...

well... yeah.
true.
only 5k miles in it's first year.
and sure to go down from there, no more road trips with it.
not after the new bumper goes on.
I wonder though if I can have custom 3M clearbra pieces installed?
like on a euro-r lip or a voltage bumper... ? hummmm... maybe....
anyway.
basically on the TSX whatever you directly touch is leather.
whatever is on the side, or back or whatever is vinyl.
and none of it is very good quality.
the 2nd gen TSX has like a half step up in quality, but that's it.
still far below lexus and infiniti.
and some people may not like it, but I like how in my infiniti they
stitch the logo into the seats. plus the contrasting stitching color.

it's a car-drive it
My mom own's an 08 honda accord V-6 and I have the 06 tsx. I personally like my so-called leather seats better. My car is now 2 years old and the leather still looks new. I clean and condition then often and the car is garage-kept. It has almost 67,000 miles. The car goes on a lot of road trips so it does get a workout.

We also own a 05 Hyundai Elantra Gt, bought new 11/04, with 83,000 miles and a 07 Mitsubishi Raider V-6 truck, bought new 11/07, with only 4,000 miles. The truck is used for hauling and other dirty jobs. Our tsx has been on two cross country trips (May 07-NC to Yellowstone-6,177 miles-18 states, May 08 NC to Ca-6,452 miles-20 states, another trip planned May 09 NC to Wa state. One of the main reasons we bought our car with Nav-excellent to have on our trips.

That explains it.
I clean and condition my seats fairly often, but they already have fairly moderate creasing (only the vinyl areas, not the perforated leather sections), but I've had mine for two years and have a 20,000/mp(year) average.
