transmission oil grey shinny color?

hello i have a 2004 tsx 6 speed ,so I changed my transmission oil today and it came out grey shinny color. The first gear grinds whenever I shift into it. Could that be why it came out that way??

transmission oil is like engine oil...NEEDS to be changed regularly.
just sounds like you have OLD ASS FLUID FROM 2004

did the fluid change help 1st gear?
it should as new fluid has NEW fluid properties. if did not smooth out 1st gear, maybe synchros are going bad

well I haven't notice any change just yet. But I think something bigger is definitely going on I just started hearing knocking noise coming from the driver side when in gear and I let off the gas. when I take it out of gear no noise

it only makes the knocking sound when I'm in gear. for example I'm in 3rd gear going 30 35mph approaching a red light i let off tge gas but still in gear there is a loud constant knocking noise. if I take it out of gear or press the clutch in the noise goes away. if it was one of the axles it would be making that noise no matter if it was in gear or not. I've been doing more research and it could be the differential. I hope it's not and it something much simpler like the you said the throw out bearing

at first, was gonna say engine is knocking...but doesnt explain why it doesnt do it when clutch isnt engaged
