Servicing your TSX at a different dealer than you originally bought your car from?
What do ya'll think about this... I bought my TSX 45 minutes away becuse they had the one I wanted. But there's an ACURA dealer 10 minutes away... Do you think you get treated better if you bring your car to the service dept where you bought it from or does it really matter?

the only thing I can think of that you might want to check out is their loaner car policy. Other than that, business is business. I wouldn't imagine that someone taking your money would treat you worse if you didn't buy the car at their dealership. If the services were free, then....maybe (even then, they get paid by the manufacturer) there would be an issue.

I used to get my Jetta serviced at a different dealer than the one I bought the car from (because they were 100mi away), and service was great. They knew I hadn't bought my car there because they tracked their service records by VIN number. So, every reciept I got from them showed the name of the dealer I bought the car from.

An Acura dealer's service department doesn't car whether or not you bought your car there. They are happy to have your business!!! And they should be very happy to do warranty work since corporate Acura (aka Honda) reimburses them. That's always been the case for my Honda at various Honda dealers.
Downsides: If the dealer from whom you bought your car has extra perks, like a free loaner or free oil change, etc., then that's not reasonable to expect the local dealer to honor the other dealer's perks.

I bought my TSX and the previous CLS at a dealer further from my local dealer but I had my CLS serviced locally without any problems. My first Acura was bought locally and the service department knew me on my first visit because I was already in their computer. My second (and now third) Acura was bought at a different dealer, so they had to put me in their computer. That was the only difference. Same great service regardless.

Like everyone has stated, it doesnt matter where you bought the car vs. where you have it serviced.
But, sadly since acura doesnt have a consistent service deal ala lexus, infiniti you have to find the service dept that you feel treats you best and most fair.
Some acura serivce places are worse then honda service places in terms of what is offered for convienence. Sucks but thats what happens when they are allowed to operate independent of one another.
Most are pretty good.
