Selling Used TSX = Selling Ice Cubes To Eskimos?
So let me start off by saying that the reason I am selling my TSX is that I currently have two car payments and almost have the Trans Am paid off and want to save up more money for a condo down payment.
So, regardless I'm asking 22,000 for a 2004 CG TSX MT no-navi with 14,500 miles on it. KBB private party (which i know is always high) says 24,500 and Edmunds says 22,500. Yet its been listed for over a week and half on autotrader/cars.com and ebay and no serious bites. Even CarMax offered me 21,000 even for it.
Given that local dealers are asking 24-25K for a certified used TSX and the only bonus you get is the extended powertrain warranty, am I missing something here? My car has a few extras, wheel locks, OEM MP3 player, paint and interior protection (yes I know i was a sucker.. never again) and a sub should at least count for something.
The only thing I can think of is the sub actually being a bad thing? Possibly your average TSX buyer isnt going to want to have an amp and a dual 10 box in the back. And on average somebody who would is savy enough to get a car for invoice.
Anyway fill me in am I doing something wrong, or with the economy having a downturn am I just selling at a bad time?
Here are my cars.com / ebay ad links below.. comments, thoughts, suggestions, free therapy welcome.

The asking price is about right - it's just a matter of time. Just be patient - it will sell.
And yes, the sub in the back might be a negative - but only once you have someone looking at it.

Yeah. Be patient. I've never had problems selling my used cars. However, I will say that stuff like photobuys, recycler, cars.com, etc. were not nearly as successful as paying about $50 to have my car listed in the main local newspaper (Los Angeles Times in my case). That usually resulted in many more inquiries.
A week and a half is hardly any time at all. Give it at least a month to get a good idea of what type of demand there is for your type of vehicle.

When it comes to monthly payments (which is what most people would have to do) its barely a few dollars more a month over a few years. You're not gonna get serious bites unless you're lucky or u find a kid who's barely struggling to hit your request of 22000.
good luck anyways.

Thanks for the input..
I have no problem being patient, just wanted to see if I was doing something wrong
My question now is should I pull the sub / amp out?

It will sell. I have a friend looking for a used TSX and if it was in NY he would have jumped on it. There are not many used TSX's for sale in this area. Are there a lot by you?

I didn't look at the cars.com listing, but maybe if it says the same thing, it might be what's driving away potential buyers? Not sure, maybe it's just me, but hey, potential buyers can be as bad as me when it comes to reading descriptions

Congrats!!!! Good luck with the sale. If it doesn't sell take the sub out and sell it seperately on ebay. When you have a sub or upgraded stereo people tend to think it was a kid that owned it, therefore thinking the car was treated worse.

I'm interested if it doesn't work out...that's the exact color combo i'm looking for. I actually saw the auction on eBay yesterday and was going to look for an AZ member in the area to go test drive it.
