Sounds like they're trying to get one, or a couple, on you.

1) Arn't the body panels already rust deterent, isn't that what galvanized means?

2)Exterior protection

3)You should buy some good leather protector and do that yourself sporadically.

You should ask them how their extra protection is different from the warranty already provided by Acura.

Dont buy it

Its a WAY overpriced profit maker, the dealer maybe pays 10 cents on the dollar for what you pay for it, the rest goes to the dealer and a salesmans commision check.

Be strong!

If it is Simoniz then don't buy it

The bottle itself is 10-20 dollars. You are paying for the labor to apply the material. The end results is questionable wether it works or not.

The standard warranty covers you for, what?, 3 years and 50K miles? Anything seriously out of whack should show up by then. Consider the brand, its a Honda and Hondas have excellent reliability. IMHO the extended warranty is not worth it but if it buys you peace of mind then ......

Well, I thought I was, but apparently not!

"Our commitment only begins with the delivery of each vehicle. All new Acura vehicles and any dealer-installed accessories are covered by a 4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty, while the outer body is covered by a 5-year/unlimited-mile limited warranty against rust-through. (See your Acura Dealer for details of each warranty and applicable exclusions, such as normal wear and ordinary maintenance items.) "

I have none of that on mine.

As for the extended warranty, you might want to give it a thought, if your A/C goesdown like mine, the warranty will then pay for itself in one single repair.

Not really worht it since the car has a undercoating already on it and you can wax and leather treat the car yourself. Save the money or buy something else with it.

Is the protection required if you live in Canada? I know there is alot of salt on the roads and they said the $900 protection includes a lifetime warranty which is transferable up to 7 years. Or should I get the protection just from a mechanic shop and not the dealership? Thanks guys =)

I was at the dealer one time, and this asian couple with little english skills was being talked into the paint protection crap.

The salesman was showing them how the treated and untreated sections feel different....

I wanted to get in there and tell them that it is a ripoff, but that would have been bad for the salesman.
