Rev matching in this car

Rev matching in this car
What is the proper way? I know the consensus of manual drivers is:
-Foot off gas
-Clutch in
-Blip
-Shift to lower gear
But i've noticed the revs drop EXTREMELY fast when clutching in on my 04 because I guess the DBW?. Do you guys leave your foot on a drop or is this really bad?

I think it's just the physics of the engine that determines how quick the revs drop, not the fact that it's DBW.
I have an MT and if I think the flywheel is spinning slower than the clutch I just nudge the gas a little bit when I slip the clutch back in, works nicely.

If you're just at steady acceleration with foot barely on gas, do you take your foot of it when clutching in?

If I was accelerating slowly I wouldn't need to downshift anyways.

This is why you would upgrade your clutch and flywheel. The lighter the flywheel, the slower the revs drop. Remember, you're driving a 4 door sedan. Not a Ferrari. The car comes stock for comfort and cruising, not stiff and sporty.

Lighter flywheel = faster revving (including how fast they drop)
