Remote wire and amp install

Remote wire and amp install
Before anyone gets worked up, I already did a detailed search.
I've read that most TSX owners tap into the Cig lighter for the remote turn on. Why go through the extra trouble of getting to the Cig lighter when there is an ACC socket that can be tapped in the center console?
For those who have NAVI, has anyone used another 12V source for the remote turn on wire other than the factory harness or the Cig lighter?
I've read about the NAVI DVD player in the trunk having a 12V turn on source and was wondering if this was true. I'm going to be installing an amp and did not want to tear apart the console to tap a remote wire. Chances are i will break some clips.
In my last install (scion tC) i just plugged the remote wire directly into the fuse holder up front under the steering column and ran it with the power wire to the trunk. Has anyone done this in their TSX?

If I remember correctly, I ran my remote wire from one of the accesory wires near the driver side fuse box. I located it using a test light.
It powers up when I put my ignition in the "first turn position". I ran it to the trunk with the positive cable wire. Then, I got the RCA inputs from the left speaker on the rear shelf. Hope that helps.

Its in the 4-pin harness. Color varies by year, so use a multimeter, or at least a test light, to make sure you get it right.
Also, I'm going to have to lock this and ask that you check out our Audio & Video forum. A whole forum dedicated to A/V, installs, and wiring discussions. If you had searched there first, you would have been able to find it. We keep "TSX" for TSX specific discussions, for general A/V... well... you get the point by now.
