Possibly purchasing a 04 TSX with salvaged title
I've been wanting to get a TSX for awhile now, and today I ran by a 04 tsx that has 86,000 miles on it. But the car has a salvaged title, granted after driving for about 30 mins with no salesman in the car and doing a thorough inspection everything seemed fine. He said he would let it go for 7000 cash also throwing in any maintenance I may require and services for $20 plus the part cost. Keep in mind this was one of those mom & pops sort of dealers , tomorrow I plan to see what type of insurance coverage I can get , If possible since it is salvaged. I have not completely settled on this car but wanted some advice. I still may opt out for an 08 6spd with 156k at $7995.

Salvage cars can be good deals; it really depends on what the damage was. If it was purely body work and nothing drivetrain related, it might be a good deal, particularly with the low mileage. Paint jobs can be ridiculously expensive and the cost of the paint job may have put it over the salvage line.
However, $7k does sound high. With salvage, I think you'd need to use the "Fair" Kelly Blue Book value. $6k sounds more reasonable.

Dude - the white 04 I just got with 146 k was only $5100... With a CLEAN title and no accidents/clean car-fax. I talked him down a bit but 7K for salvage is out of the question for that year.... Twice the price or close to it.

Just curious on what you decided.
Personally, I would almost never purchase a salvaged car. The exception would be a dedicated track car (I'd take a salvaged s2000 for that purpose).
The price on that one seems too high (what's your location?). My girlfriend recently got a '08 (with nav) for about that price. More miles, but in nearly spotless condition (clean Cafax and Autocheck).
When you say you did a thorough inspection, did you put it on a lift to check the condition of the frame? I'd say that's a must with a salvaged car.
