Please help me decide
Hey guys, I am thinking of trading my rsx to tsx. My wife is going to be here in US soon and I would like to have a 4 door car, you know a family car. I would like to know if the tsx is a quiet car, city and highway. I test drove a 2004 tsx last week but only in a 40mph road. Although it was quiet compared to my rsx, I can't tell if it's the same in a highway (70-80mph). Could guys please help me decide? What problems am I going to expect with a 2004 model? It has 50K miles on it and the dealer is giving me for 19K OTD with extended warranty. Comes with navigation and built-in xm sat radio. The car is clean inside and out, and has a clean record from carfax and only 1 owner.
Here's the picture of the car.
Thanks!!!

That red looks nice. I also have a Lincoln LS and the 2008 TSX I have is quiet and just as comfortable, but does lack power.
They have 2.9% (no rebate) on new ones, so you may want to see how much difference there is in the payment.
I bought a 2008, nothing down for 36 months and the payment is $830 month.

I test drove a 2006 RSX and a 2005 TSX at Carmax, in that order (I was shopping for the former and simply wanted to compare with the latter), and the TSX felt every bit as sporty, and ... I only went up to 45 or so ... the stereo sounded better. I think I did both with the moonroof open at 45, and the TSX was quieter that way. There is a bit of road noise inthe TSX at 70, even with the sunroof shutter drawn shut, and reviews noted this in comparison with Audis, BMWs, and others in the "upscale sedan" class. I really can't be bothered, coming from my other car -- a 1987 Jeep Wrangler soft-top.
I didn't know XM was standard in the 2004 ... I don't see the "hump" antenna on yours. If you browse around, you'll find that there are a few common complaints and TSBs out for the 2004 model year. I wouldn't go for it unless the dealer price is < what Consumer Reports says is a median dealer pre-owned price. ($12 or $14 gets you a used price report on their site, including adjustment for odometer reading. I strongly recommend it before you buy.) Extended warranty helps, particularly if the a/c, or center console backlighting, goes bad.
I have a 2006, they did some slight adjustments, added a coupla doodads, and boosted performance a wee bit. If you're worried about trading "down" from an RSX to a sedan, I think you'd find the 2006 refresh hardly a disappointment. Oh, and the NAVI is a bit quicker, IIRC. (Correct me if I'm wrong somebody....) I think the 2006 year introduced a power seat for the passenger (your wife ) and memory seats? There's a thread (or sticky?) here somewhere listing the trivial differences from 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 (TPMS only for 2007, I think).
My your taste may differ but ... I've grown to dislike the parchment/fake wood interior. I think the metal-look trim in the quartz and ebony interiors is more consistent with all the other trim.
Ask what the extended warranty is ... is this a CPO from an Acura dealer (which adds 1 yr and 12,000 miles on the factory warrant), then there's add-wrap which Acura sells, then there's add-wrap coverages which dealers sell. Ask which you're getting. I say this because I got a dealer auto group policy, after asking for an Acura add-wrap, and even received a brochure making it look like I

Kumusta pare....I wouldn't describe the TSX as loud. It will be much quieter than you RSX. Its quiet below 65 MPH, but I think wind noise comes on at about 70-75. Still, it will be much better than your RSX.
Road noise wasn't bad for me, personally.

Smack me silly, I didn't really look at the interior pic. It's got the 2004 steering wheel with no backlighting on the buttons (fixed in 2005 IIRC). It's also ... got some add-on in the upper center console cubby hole. What's'at?
It appears to have the rear wing, but without the OEM body kit (someone correct as needed, I don't really recognize those well). Cheap, IMHO.
... FYI, they added Bluetooth HFL in ... 2006? Yet another reason to shop around.

Alright I got the car and they let it go for 18T OTD including extended warranty and with free all season floormats, splash guard, and rubber cargo tray. I got the carfax report and all the service records from the dealer.
Right now, I am looking to buy a TL-S wheels and lip OEM lip kit.

Thats the optional XM for 04.
I have a Milano red 04 with the A-spec kit and love it . If you get it, go out and get a 3M clear bra for it asap. You'll definitely thank yourself later.
It never feels slow to me, it's not fast but its definitely more then quick enough.

I would try to nego for the lower price. I am not sure about the exact figures of kbb of 04 tsx, but 19K OTD still sounds little too high. (Itz just opinion though...)
I rode in my friend's 04 blk tsx for about an year before I bought my 07. As noise wise, I think there weren't much difference. Hope this helps.
