Thumbs up Finally delivered! My first thoughts

I'm a long time reader, but just haven't posted much since I'm not a TSX owner yet. But, after almost 2 months wait, I'm getting the Arctic Blue (rare) 6MT (also rare) w/ NAVI (also also rare). I'm not an avid poster right now, but I should be soon! Wish me luck tomorrow, this is also my first MT car. I haven't driven MT for a while, so I hope I won't (have the urge) to overrev. The only bad this about the delivery is that they delivered the car to Woodland Hills, CA, and I am picking up the car at Glendale tomorrow..so they will put some miles on the car But no matter, I couldn't wait any longer so I can pick it up tomorrow! Hope to post pics soon!

got the TSX today I have now over 100 miles on it. Here are my first impressions:

It basically flies on the freeway, i was suprised at how quickly I'm at six gear. Shifter is smooth and precise

Clutch is pretty effortless, a bit long in travel. Still trying to start smoothly and quickly from start, which is a bit difficult for me now. (first MT car) Other shift points seems pretty natural. Could use a bit more torque below 2000rpm to help startups

Navigation startup is annoying, have to wait for the OK button. Otherwise is fine, I won't get lost eve if I take 5 wrong turns

Navi info: Database version 20030902 (Nice!)
Software: ver 1.0900 (not 1.00, ver nice!)

Power is smooth when it's above 4000rpm. I'm trying hard to keep it under 5000rpm, but it's too tempting to rev up I did accidentally downshift to second twice (front fifth)...got the rev to 6000 momentarily

Fit and finish is very exact in the car. no defect so far. The fumes of the car is getting to my head now..I';m sitting in my car as I type this in my laptop

I will soon install the SNHOND3 aux input to my car. I already got it a month ago, will the extra wiring and stuff..can't wait

Overall, a great car

I think in another thread, there is a discussion that the DVD is dual layer, meaning there is no way of copying (burning) the navi DVD currently. (it won't fit on a single layer) Or else, I'd be glad to help. I have my initial picture gallery up! Check it out

I'm sitting in my car (again) as I type this..I'm inseparable from her

I have 200 miles total on this car already..so the initial break in is over? hehehe:P

Wow.. very nice car!! I wanna get the newer version DVD for my Navi.. Wonder if I can get it for free from the dealer.
By the way, did they drill the holes on your bumper for the front license plate. I have heard that they are not supposed to do that. How much you ended up paying for your TSX?

I don't know if they drilled holes or not, but I was trying to unmount the front license plate holder (i'm not getting my license plate for a while anyway). The mount is somewhere under the bumper..where that big vent slot is. I can't see it, so I need to experiment with it a bit

I had to order the car, which means I had to pay close to MSRP for it. I got 300 bucks off MSRP, that's it. But I got a good rate (3.5% for 60 months) and good insurance rate (650 for 6 months)

I see.. Are you planning to get the body kit? I am thinking about it. I have seen couple of TSXs with body kit on the road and they really look cool! I am kinda tempted to get them. I have installed the rear spoiler and fog light already.

I'm thinking of the body kit also. It makes the car look more aggressive. I thinking of lowering, but driving in L.A. in a lowered car will not be good (too many potholes). I am also thinking about getting a lip spoiler. Performance wise, I am interested in getting the rear sway (stabilizer) bar from Comptech.

Thanks for everyone comments, you all have good taste! This car is so great, I can't wait to drive it everyday

I just ordered some H1 bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com, so they better match the HIDs. Also, I like to blind the people who cut me off I got the Osram Silver Star, which claims to be 50% brighter than stock bulbs. I will let you guys know how that looks

As for the headlights itself, I think they are aimed too low. Therefore, I just popped the hood and reaimed it myself

What is your VIN number, Arcticcl9? I am looking to buy a new TSX and I want it to have the new Nav DVD/software. So I assume if I get a VIN greater than yours I should be OK.

Thanks!

My TSX is in the 18k range, so anything higher than 18000 ending should be fine.

I guess they are above and beyond their 15k/year target
