no offense but i think the orange halo would look weird, kind of mess with the flow of the light since 2/3 are white.

there were pics floating around a while back of someone who put the orange halos on their TSX.

it didn't look good at all. but if you like them, more power to you.

good luck.

well, ... 8000k and amber are two completely different colors.
so which is it?
or is it both?

...

8000k is usually exclusive to AAC.
Umnitza uses 6000k, or used to exclusively.

and yes, install is a huge pain.
you can wire them to the parking lights, or do what n3ok318 and I
both did, make a custom wire harness. I had my custom harness run
into the dash and an OEM foglight button attached to it to control
the halo lights independently.

you have to open the lights by baking them open.
you have to drill holes, glue, run wires, carefully bake and clamp
the lights back together.

it is a process for sure.

on a DIY difficulty scale, it's in the upper half for sure I would think.
maybe a 6 or 7 or so.

We really need someone who has already done this to post some extensive details. I need to know details on the wiring:

1) how to make the harness; what kind of wiring and how long?
2) where to drill the holes and how to ensure the unit is sealed after drilling these holes,
3) when do you hook the wires up to the halos? Is it while the units are opened, is it before the baking, after the baking...?

I can help with a couple details.

the harness is made, in my case, from two other harnesses I combined.
I bought an OEM foglight switch that goes next to the VSA off button.
it comes with a very small harness that will get the wiring to the other
side of the firewall.
from there, I used an 04-05 fog light wiring harness.
I bought a set of ion fog lights from ebay, kept the harness and sold
the lights themselves to somebody who has an 04-05 that needed
new lenses and housings.

the fog light harness hooks up to the halos, same way it would have hooked
up to the fog lights.
so just simplify it and picture yourself installing fog lights in an 04-05.
just cut the wires right before they get to the lights and wire them to the
halos instead.

the halos have a simple red and black connection.
positive and negative, that is all. if there is wiring beyond that, you do
not need it.

at the top or bottom of every halo there are wires coming from it.
so if you position the halo with the wires pointing down, two small holes
need to be drilled directly at the bottom of where the halo sits, so that
the wires can be run out of the back of the housing.
holes also have to be drilled in the back of the housing to get the wires out.

the unit being sealed has nothing to do with these holes.
the unit being sealed deals with the separation point between the back
and the front of the housing. the black part and the lense/cover up front.
but adding some clear silicone won't hurt anyone to seal the holes
just in case.

AAC has a DIY video on youtube about installing the halos yourself.
it's a good watch, they show how to bake open and bake closed the housing.

i didnt mean to put you down, but also if you want the center ring it makes it a harder install. if you do the 1 outer and 1 inner ring the install is easier as you dont have to drill for the center(i think you have to drill, thats what it looks like in pictures). but i know you can just run the 2 rings over top the headlight, so the only hard put wold be ensuring a clean gluing.

I drill a hole to one of blank button next to VSA and put a switch on it. It looks clean.

I will post pics when I get my new camera soon!

So as long as you get a good seal, you don't have to worry about the drilled holes causing condensation. Right?

What about moisture that got into the housing while it was opened?

to be honest with you, I don't know if mine's properly sealed. but it must be, because I never get moisture. And I live in Seattle.

From my experience, it is pretty hard to mess up sealing. Just bake it and get about 10 clamps and hold it for about 10 minutes. There's also salt bag in the headlight so I think it does good job keeping the moisture away.
