If that lip extends lower than your prototype, maybe as low as a JDM lip, and has a carbon fiber insert, I will definitely pay $219

I doubt this rubber would hold up. I have not even driven the car since I put it on. Who knows what the wind will do to it.

I agree the price would need to be worked on. However, I did not ask him about making it out of carbon fiber either.

I doubt there would any extension to the existing bumper. The concept is to plug the gap and keep it flush with the rest of the bumper. I figured it wouldn't be that difficult for him to manufacturer since he's already got the v-limited.

Its good you guys have feedback, thats what we need!

I did not cut the bottom section..thats how its made with the nice little lip. I did however, folder the rubber on the ends then had to cut a tiny bit off each end to make it flush with the line of the bumper. see pics.

I used some small screws that had washers already attached and just screwed up into the bumper. I'm fairly anal about doing stuff like this but I figured I'd never see them.

Looks VERY good. btw, what's up with that screwdriver? are you a woman? go to sears and pick up a real screwdriver.

Lowered car, not much room for a regular size screwdriver

I asked Dan at MachV about carbon fiber and also about a lower price on a poly lip. Here's what he said.

> Do you guys make carbon fiber parts?

We do, but it would cost MORE, not less, in carbon. Figure $300 or more.

> If you don't, would there be any chance for a better price on a poly lip?

Yes, that's possible, since it's not as large as the Subaru piece. I have to do a little more research about the cost.

I'd be interested to see how it looks on the car first. I could be a test fit or you can be a test fit, I was meaning to go up to MachV later this month anyway.

I'm in obviously but i'll have to talk to him more about actually producing this part. I wish it could "just happen" but i know thats not the reality. he also said the first batch order would have to be 50 but maybe if we had 20 or 25 he'd still consider. Hopefully he'll have a better price too when he gets back with me. I'll post all updates I get in the thread.

I'm sure its the fact that we really don't know what it'll look like and I understand the hesitation. Thats just the nature of the beast...Plus I just came up with the idea last week so we'll see how things go in the next few weeks.

I think it would be damn nice looking though

Using the rubber used for the concept, yes. It'll mold to whatever. Not sure how it would look. But, I would guess the final poly or carbon product would have slightly different dimensions.

For $9 I figured what the heck, I'll give it a shot. However, I went with double-sided tape to test fit it before drilling any kind of hole. Since I won't be driving the car the rest of the week, I'm going to leave it taped on to decide if I want to screw it on.

I reversed the rubber seal from what rza did originally. I think this way is a bit better in person because it doesn't stick out as much. Either way, it looks good. I just hope someone decides to make this in a carbon or poly version.

nice job on your version of the diy, but i think yours sticks out more than the op's. here's a side-by-side, op on the left, knox on the right

Bought the same kind from Home Depot, just as pictured from rza.

Thanks for the side-by-side. I had mine turned the way rza did and it stuck out farther than his. Interesting. I keep catching myself looking out the window to see if I like it. It's good from a far but not really sure up close. I know at high speeds it would be flimsy and bending.

Yes, I have yellow Lamin-X protective film over my fog's and Nokya yellow bulbs behind those. No melting but I'm very scarce in using them. If it's hot outside at night I'll only use them at high speeds so they're cooled and cut them off when slowing down to city speeds. The way yellow reflects off of rain is superb compared to white light. I would recommend them for rain use only actually.

Hmm,it almost looks like you did something different than I did. It looks like yours doesn't go as low as mine. The arrow points to the side thats mounted to my bumper.

nice job btw, looks like you got it very smooth, i'm sure you know what i mean.

I mounted the other side, away from the arrow in the picture. I pulled it off this morning but I'm contemplating putting it back on with mounting screws.

I doubt it, i mean it depends on how much the size and shape of the gap changes with the aspec front in place.

cool, i might try to do some "drive by" video this afternoon, weather permitting(cloudy/chance of rain atm) to give people more feeling of what it actually looks like.
