Moving On.. going to miss the TSX
All:
Just traded in my 08 TSX Black/Black w/o navi on a 2010 Nissan Maxima Black/Black with Navi, Tech, Sport packages.
Looked at the TL, TSX, G37 Sedan, and Maxima. At first I was leaning toward the TL, and getting a new grill, but money wise it was a lot more then the Max. Then I drove the Max and WOW!!! great, amazing car. So much larger then the tsx, which is what we were looking for. Very sporty car to drive, very very quiet compared to the tsx. and that 290hp 3.5 is a blast. Haven't got on it yet due to 200 miles on the car, but its got power at any RPM!!
Anyways we got about 21,000 on our trade, with 48,000 miles on the car. We got a great deal on the Max as well!! Going to miss the tsx though, its a great car, we never had a bit of trouble with it except the brakes warping around 40,000 miles, and it was barely noticable. The dealer took care of it for free.

thanks fellas, the car is a blast. great road feel similar to the tsx.
Yes the car has sport shift on the consol, as well as paddle shifters on the steering wheel. If you decide to "manually" shift it which either method, its so fast and responsive. I would say its 5 to 10 times as fast as the tsx was, and the tsx was faster then most.
They have 6 electronically predetermined gear ratios for the cvt, that will allow you to choose that "gear" its actually kinda fun. Nissans 3.5 is a great great motor!!!

it's a car-drive it
congrats and many miles of safe driving. Once owned a 87 Maxima-the engine was too powerful for the transmission (5MT) so it was replaced 3 times under warranty. Otherwise it would have been an excellent car-Had 200,000+miles when we sold it. Only interested in vehicles with 6MT so no maxima for us.

We decided for the Max instead of the G37x due to the interior size. The G was awesome don't get me wrong it just wasn't that much larger interior wise then the TSX. The Maxima has a ton of interior room, so overall we were looking more for a larger car that is fun to drive, and the Max fit the bill perfect for us! We the color we got was another Black on Black. The interior quality is definlty a step up. The leather quality is a lot better then the tsx was. The seats are supper comfy too, plus they are very supportive and sporty. If i could have kept the tsx gauges that would have been perfect. I loved those gauges!!!!
I will get some pics up sometime, dont hold your breath, its been so busy at work lately, and the holidays... you know how it goes. but i will get some up sometime soon!
yeah if you are looking for a stick then no maxima. the cvt takes some getting used to, but its fun to drive!

I had the Maxima as a rental and it had a great ride/feel to it. The only thing with it I can't get over is the CVT (and the high price). It just feels odd that the transmission has no shifting (unless you go into manual mode)...to me it feels like the transmission is slipping. My sister traded in the 08 Accord for the Altima and loves it. Good luck with it.

i remember back in the summer of 07 when we bought our 08 tsx, we test drove a altima with the 4cyl and the cvt. we did not like that car at all. with that motor and the cvt it just felt whinny, tech term i know. but i also drove the v6 6speed, now that was fun, but not a good fit for an everyday driver, especially since the wife drives it and can't drive stick
the cvt sure does take some getting used to but now that i am somewhat used to it, it feels a lot better.
