Looking for 1st gen TSX - what to look out for?
I'm looking for a 1st gen TSX or maybe even a mid 2000s TL. Trying to find something for under $6000. I commute about 90 miles/day, so looking for at least 25 mpg. I know honda and acura had auto transmission problems in the early 2000s. What models should I avoid and what should I look out for? Thanks!

you are going to be looking for used car things.....
does the car track straight?
does the car ride smoothly?
does the transmission shift butter smooth?
are the tires in great condition?
when was the oil last changed?
does the radio work?
does it pull in all gears?
any paint work done?
are all the body panels straight?
how does the interior look?
does the A/C work?
does the heater work?
any rotten rubber bushings?
any rotten engine/transmission mounts?
any smells?
can you get your hands on carfax/maintenance records?

Thanks justnspace, I'm pretty familiar with buying used cars and already do most of what you suggest. I'm interested in what issues there are with the 1st gen TSX specifically - trans problems, unusual brake issues, oil burning, etc.
