How many of you left with crooked steering wheel after shop's wheel alignment
I find a way to fit it myself. One question is why the before and after reading not match? I made a video for my future references

Yes. Depends on the shop; I think some of them do "alignments" but have crap equipment or something.
When I have it done at the dealer or a local collision place, it's always fine, but the indie shop where I have most of my work done never gets it right. (They do everything else and are really nice/cheap, but... yeah.)

The technician eyeballs the steering wheel straight.
Then aligns the suspension adjusters to match the straight steering wheel.
If he eyeballs it wrong, the 4 wheels will be aligned in relation to each other... but the steering wheel will be out of sync.
It happens. Not a big deal.
Before and after specs won't match. Your car came in un-aligned (before), and then was aligned (after).
Let them re-do the alignment. Its 20mins. Try not to be so mad about it.

Go to a better alignment tech that gives a shit. My indie shop is super meticulous. Alignments take close to an hour but he zeroes out everything and has a level tool for the steering wheel.

So stop going there If you're paying someone to do a job and they don't do it right, the solution is probably to stop going there

My guess is the tech adjusts toe-in on one tie-rod end to hell w/ wheel alignment.
DIY of toe-in is possible but can be tedious. I found that tie-rod lock nuts were too tight to release w/ wheel in place. Some cars can be difficult to access tie-rod lock nut w/ car on the ground.
good luck

I have lifetime alignment a Firestone for all three of my vehicles. They once did an alignment and my MDX steering wheel was off centered. Took it back the next day and they fixed it. Firestone can have different levels of service depending on the store manager. I wouldn't kick all Firestones to the curb; but, take it to another Firestone to fix.

Hello Joe, recently I did an alignment from a well known shop, however the tech center the wheel more so on the left side, so going straight its turned left a little. It is very minor, but its there. As long as the alignment is good you should be fine, but if it bugs you like others say they can adjust that.
