It's been a while since I've been on this board, but just want to pass on a money saving tip, at least for the CDN members. At the end of my lease and I decide to buy-out the car since I am very happy with it. The dealer gave us a quote for the end of lease payment along with a $495 administration fee. The Ontario government requires a safety inspection ($75) and an emissions test ($30) to change ownership title. When I went online, I realized I could pay the final baloon payment through the Honda Finance website, they deducted the payment right out of my account and sent me the ownership paperwork for me to take to the Ministry of Transportation. Once at the ministry office I asked how much to do the transfer. The answer:$10! That's it! For a total of $115 I did all the work myself and saved a bundle. I suspect that the majority of people are completely unware of this dealer rip-off scheme.
