well you had the right idea by trying to change ur grill but half assed is no way to go about it. i did the same thing but finished it.
1. disassembled the grill
2. sanded it down. coarse and fine sandpaper. cleaned it up.
3. couple coats of flat black spray paint( prefered flat)
4. nice lil touch i added. ( taped off around where the background of the A in the middle is and painted the background blue. my tsx is abp so it matches pretty well. so grill is all black but blue behind the A logo. looks nice) will post pics if neone is interested.
5. clearcoat if u feel necessary. wll prolly last a lil longer. i like a matte finish myself. not so keen on the glossy look.
6. just reassemble and reinstall. pretty simple. put back in place, pop center of clip out, put back in hole n press center pin back into clip.
oh and clean everything up before you reinstall the grill. its already out might as well clean under it.

Yeah, that does sound nice. Using the factory paint would be the ideal way to go, but of course, it's behind the A, so.... Picture, please. Save this thread from the doldrums.

You lost me with the blacked out badges, until I grokked that you mostly de-chromed it. I get it. Not for me, but definitely a nice, interesting, distinctive look.

You did a good job. Keep an eye on the grille, I have a feeling you're going to get a lot of rock chipping through that flat black paint.

Are you tempted to paint your emblems and glue them back on?

Paint matched
(the buttom smudge is just some wax that needs to be buffed out)

Looks great. I like how you did the middle "wing" the A sits on too. I only had my top and bottom chrome bits matched.

Yeah ... giving me ideas for my car. i think my grill would look niiiiice with ASM instead of the chrome, with the only chrome being the emblem.

The TSX is too nice of a car for hack saw improvisation. You should realy just order the Mugen grill and put this episode behind you.

I'm not trying to be mean but it just looks lame to me. I don't think those Mugen grills look very good and that looks like a half assed Mugen grill.

tuoncan, do us a favor and slam the oem grill back on.

Dont quit your day job trying to sell one of these. The big gaping hole doesnt look very nice.

I know its good t be unqiue but it doesnt work, are you the one that has all those stickers all over the back of the car?
