Can't see car HFL bluetooth in mobile device (mobile device in discovery mode)
Hey Guys, I bought 2006 acura TSX used a month ago.
I try to setup HFL many times to pair either of my Phones (Droid 6 and Iphone 7+) without any luck. I have gone through and cleared existing paired Phones in the system and I go through the pairing process to the point where it's searching for the phone, but I never see the car show up on the phone itself. Any idea what the deal is?
I appreciate for your answers and valuable time.

If you have iOS 10.3.3 or older:
Make sure your phone is in discoverable mode.
On the iPhone, turning on the Bluetooth should put the phone in discoverable mode, then the car HFL should show up under "My Devices" as "Hands Free Link," ask you for a code, and you can follow the HFL's instructions from there.
IDK if iOS 11.01 -11.1 work with the HFL, as I haven't updated to iOS 11 and am waiting for the bugs to be worked out.
iOS 9.X worked well, but 10.3.3 is a little buggy answering calls.
I haven't connected an Android device to the HFL before, so another member will have to chime in on that.
BTW, you may want to check in the 1st Gen TSX forum at: https://acurazine.com/forums/first-g...2004-2008-124/ , as this is the 3G TL forum.

It's possible you have a defective HFL module. These all pretty much are dying right now for 06 and up owners. There's a class action in the works right now because Acura has refused to admit that the modules are defective. What you're describing is exactly what happened to my 06 when the bluetooth module failed. I got flaky visibility of the car in my phone's bluetooth pairing screen after many years of flawless performance. Then it would no long find the car's HFL at all.
It may be that you have the same unfortunate hardware defect. The only solution for that (at least for a permanent solution) is to purchase a new bluetooth module for a ridiculous price (like $500-$800 or more) or buy a hopefully working one from a junk yard/ebay.
