Put the E-brake on to prevent it from rolling

Every car does that. It's just the free play in the gearbox (you need to have some or everything would jam up) amplified by the gearing.

i think all cars do this. if all of the variables were in place such that the body was perfectly flat in relation to the wheels then i don't think it would. but if you're on any slight incline or decline, no matter how slight, it'll do it. I put my parking break on before letting off the brake pedal when i park my car, so that the car is held by the brake and not the transmission.

(fwiw i've got an 06)

edit: in the 20 seconds it took me to write this out, 2 other people replied!

My 04 would do this too, if I let it. I always set the hand brake first, then shift to P, and then release the foot brake.
