Blue Ambient Footwell Lighting Accessory Installation Instructions

Just thought you guys might be interested in this. Chiswick Honda in London has been helping me with quotes for several Euro-only accessories. They also were nice enough to send me the installation instructions to make sure that this would fit on a USDM TSX.

Enjoy.

They quoted me 117 GBP (~$240)...not including international shipping. Kinda expensive IMHO, but the exclusivity is hard to pass up.....

I saw pics and the installation steps a coupla months ago for the 2008 USDM Accord, I think. I thought it a LOT of work for a little light where it's arguably not needed.

If I did it, I'd hook it to a push button switch next to the VSA switch. I like my "occupant courtesy lights" in my 1987 Wrangler, which are under the dash and also light up the footwells. It can be turned on manually with the instrument gauge reostat. Actually, dreaming large, it'd be nice to be able to illuminate all the "door opened" lights with a switch.

Quite honestly...when I looked at the installation instructions...those are alot of the steps that I followed when I installed my much cheaper version in my car. The only thing is...I wired my LED's to the heated seat switch so that the footwell lights come on when I turn the headlights on. Mine only cost me $4 for the lights and about an hour to install. Cheapest mod ever! I thingk it looks pretty good too...considering that a chick installed then!

that's hot... but it would be even hotter if it weren't for the yellow/green backlight

I should consider doing that... if I also consider changing the yellow backlight as well to like blue to match the gauge.

How many/what kind of LED's did you use on each side?

I agree with the exclusive switch idea...I'd imagine there'd be times when I wouldn't want those lights on...

Don't you watch Star Trek? Women make as good engineers, science officers, and diplomats as the men/Bolians, if not better.

That's a nice install ... the question with things like that is where to put the ambient light source, as it's next to impossible to make it truly "ambient." Your's is a good choice, as that's where I think I'd need/want light.

mwschmit...I used 1 LED on each side. I got them from superbrightleds.com. They were dirt cheap...around $2 a piece.

Davidspalding...Yes...women as as good in the engineering and sciences as men...it's just that everytime I do a mod to my car by myself, my friends make fun of me. When I painted my calipers, they kept asking me who helped me. Star Trek was way ahead of its time.

ruffellprefley...I'm listening to XM in that picture. That's why the song title is displayed.
