B-1 service on 07 TSX
Hey guys,
When it comes to servicing, are most of you getting the "B-1" service done at your local Acura dealer? I just called today, and they want $159 for this service. This includes brakes servicing - they take the brakes apart and lubricate everything.
I guess my question is, do I really need this brake servicing done, or am I totally wasting my money? My car currently has 45k miles on it, and at my last service visit (5-6k) ago, I had my rear pads replaced.
Just wanted to see if this was worth it or not.
Thanks much!

Just called around, and found the B-1 service for $59 at my local Honda dealership... Plus, they have a $10 off coupon on their web site... So, it looks like I'm going there. I've always been kind of hesitant to go to Honda over Acura, but in all reality, it's the same vehicle.. So, I will give them a shot...

The B-1 service is just inspection of various components. They won't service your brake fluid as part of the service. If you haven't done it yet it is a good time to do it.
I also like doing my coolant and transmission fluid drain and fill at 3 year 36k mark. You don't need to do this though.

It depends on the dealer not the brand. Someone could tell you that they had lousy service from a particular dealer-either honda or acura. That does not mean all dealers are bad. If you have warranty work to be done than it has to be done by a acura dealer. I heard that honda charges less but the oil change I got at the honda dealer in Topeka, Ks was more than what the acura dealer near me in NC charges. I take my tsx there when I can not get to my regular dealer in PA. Both those dealers sell and service hondas also. If fact the NC acura service dept. is closed on Saturday so if you need service you go next door to the honda side. They are open.

If you ever need an out of warranty good will repair, it pays off to show that you have done your services at a Acura dealership (where the repair will be done). Some dealers are more willing to help you if they notice you have been a paying customer of theirs.

I agree. They are also more willing to help you if they have done all the work and know what has been done by them. There was a TSB on the wipers. TSB's are free while the car is under warranty. The dealer replaced mine free even tho my car had 100K+miles.
