2006 TSX - Questions about spare tire trunk tools
 

I just bought a used 2006 TSX, and two of the tools that are supposed to be in the foam tray on top of the spare tire in the trunk are missing.

From looking at pictures online, the two parts that are missing are what look like a screwdriver, and some sort of S-shaped part.

1) Is the screwdriver just a regular flat head screwdriver? What's special about it? Why is it in the foam tray? Is it needed to change out a flat tire?

2) What is that S-shaped part?

"S-shaped" is kind of inaccurate, I know. Z-shaped?

What is that thing?

You don't need the screwdriver to replace the tire (I've done it. There's no tricks, just 19mm lug nuts.)

A mini flat-head screwdriver would be useful for undoing plastic clips when you're replacing a brake light, etc.

Ok. So that screwdriver isn't essential then. Any old flat head will do the job (undoing plastic clips), I assume.

What about the other piece? The S or Z shaped piece? What is that used for? Do I need it?

If I remember right that's part of the hold-down hardware for the spare tire. (The screw hole is off-center compared to where the tire's centered.) You screw that into it, lie the wheel down, and then screw that plastic cap onto the now-offset threads.) But I may be mistaken, or remembering a different car. (It's been a while since I've rooted around back there.)

I believe that's the sunroof manual closing tool.

the Z shaped bar is the sunroof crank, just in case the sunroof stops working

I think most cars have a plastic screw top to keep the kit in place, I think you were correct in thinking it might be the threaded peice that sticks up out of the kit...
however, since I read the owner's manual way back when, I know the Z crank is for the Sunroof

Looking through the owner's manual, it talks about the moonroof wrench on page 327.
