i just wanted to point out that you do not need to have premium gas to achieve a better mpg. I've been running with regular unleaded here in Atlanta where you are lucky just to get any type of gas. I still get at least 34mpg. So you don't have to worry about regular gas being bad for your car like some other people said so in other threads.

I agree with you. I also use regular gas in my 06 tsx. I tried using premium gas for over 2 months-no improvement just spending more money. I will have owned my car, bought new, 2 years in Nov. It has 62,000+problem free miles.

That is a little hard to do for us Auto folk.

You should search the forums, as there have been many threads on this. Could be a bad O2 sensor.

As has been discussed over and over and over again, driving style can effect mileage. Use of the high RPMs or sport shift mode regularly will drop mileage drastically. So will driving consistently in the city, which I do when my daughter visits.

If you search www.FuelEconomy.gov, you can find what other TSX drivers are reporting. I've been tracking since April, 2008, and my overall average is 27 MPG. I've had single fill-ups where my MPG for the tank was 33 MPG, but the average over a roughly 12 month period has been pretty stable at 27.5MPG.

I've tried to drive conservatively, but it doesn't help my mileage....

the tires can also effect the gas mileage. The gas mileage on my tsx went down when I replaced the OEM tires.

If you're getting 23 on the highway, there's something wrong, or your going 95 mph. I stayed around 70 for a tank and got 34.3 mpg. I get better than 23 around town, and would have to v-tec every chance I got to drop it to 17. My average over the last few thousand miles is about 28. I'd have to suggest checking your O2 sensors and things of that nature. You've got to have a problem somewhere.

I mentioned the problem to my dealer 3 years ago, but they said that it can't be my O2 sensor because I would get a CEL... I'm lost to what can be my problem. The only engine mods that I have is an intake, header, and cat back. However, the only thing I can see that affects mileage is the intake. Headers and cat back only free up the exhaust gas.

Try a different dealer. 23 MPG on the highway is just WRONG. You might as well leave the car garaged and just burn $20 bills with a lighter. (jk)

Gas mileage shot through the roof in a matter of 5 minutes

So my 2006 TSX somehow went from 18.8mpg to 22.8mph in a matter of 8 minutes of driving, whenever I got home after dropping my brother off(more of letting him drive to work) I let it idle for 2 minutes and it went from 22.8 mpg to 22.6 in those 2 minutes of idling, is this a good sign or bad sign.
