2006 Acura TSX Ipod Adapter Cord

Does anyone know what kind of cord you need to hook up your ipod to the car. I have the grey hookup, but not the cord.

I googled this topic, but am having trouble finding the correct cord to buy.

you just need a 1/8" or 3.5mm cable male-to-male
i.e. google " 1/8" stereo mini cord " or " 1/8" mini cable "
If you care anything about sound quality you need to dock your ipod and then connect the dock to the 1/8" jack in the console. and gold is better. you only need a 12" length.

the base for the ipod. apple makes em of course
apple ipod dock link

my third gen came with a dock.
on the back of the dock is a small jack (1/8") which is not amplified (like the headphone jack is) which when run through your AUX has MUCH better sound quality than the headphone jack. BTW you don't use the iPod volume control when it is in the dock-just use car stereo controls

of course you can't dock an Apple Shuttle

I went to Radio Shack and asked them for the wire to conect my I pod and it was like $4.99 and you just plug it in the headphone jack. I've have had mine for 3 mnths now with no problem.

Thanks, I thought that was what it was, but it seemed too simple. I'm glad I don't need some expensive stupid cord like the rest of the Apple stuff.

Good find CL9K24NJ!!
u r right there will be no problem with using the headphone jack.
But on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 is best) my rating of sound quality for the various connections are:

iPod headphone jack to AUX jack(TSX 06) at volume <12 =6
iPod headphone jack to AUX jack(TSX 06) at volume 20+ =4
iPod dock or adapter LINE OUT jack to AUX jack(TSX 06) at volume 0-30 =9.9

I just realized that instead of the dock a charger adapter (which I own [MonsterC]but is packed in storage) is much simpler solution for the connection for optimal sound quality....it is the same as using a dock since it is not amplified.

I think the sound is good (not the best) but it comes in real clear. I think if your looking for something cheap and has good sound I would go with the audio cable from Radio Shack and if you need that perfect sound then there is other options out there.
