2005 TSX w/nav VS. 2006 TSX w/nav

Hello,
I am planning to buy a 2005 or 2006 TSX in the near future. I was just wondering if the 2006 TSX is worth a couple more thousand than the 2005 TSX? What added features does the 2006 bring in both interior and trim? Can the 2006 TSX with nav play mp3 CDs?

Thanks.

A couple thousand? Maybe not. $900? Yes. Slightly upgraded engine, slightly faster navi, slightly more rim spokes, memory seats, mp3 capable, trip computer, maybe better colors for you?, Bluetooth, hell, it IS almost worth a couple thousand more...

yea, I found a good deal on a 2005 TSX w/nav for a couple of thousand under the ~30,000 for a 2006 w/nav.

That's not a good deal. An '06 sitting on a lot can be had for closer to $28,000, cheaper in some areas like SoCal. A year old model should be going for more like $25-26K.

The median price for 2006 with Navi is about 28.5k. That's 2k under the MSRP of 30,505, or about 800 over invoice. I'm sure you could do closer to invoice with w 2005, maybe even below it if you haggle towards the end of the month, but you're probably looking at a difference of less than 1000 dollars, factoring in getting a good deal on the 2006. Just something to keep in mind.

My salesman told me invoice price for the 2006's increased by $800 over 2005's to cover the new stuff they put in it.

One tactic that may work for you is to ask for invoice (or better, under invoice) price on the 2005, then bait and switch him with an offer of $1k more than that price for a 2006. Done successfuly it could get you around invoice price on a 2006, which is something very few people have been able to get. At worst you're $200 over invoice which is still a great deal. This car does NOT seem to sell for below invoice new.

I actually planned on trying something like this, but never got the chance. When I test drove originally, they had 1 2005 left and they indicated they would make a deal on it. By the time I was ready to purchase it was gone so I had to get my price the old fashoined way. They were still willing to negotiate and gave me a very good price. Check the last few pages of the owner sign-in thread to see real world prices on 2006s.

BTW... I freaking love my navi. The improvement in the 2006 navi + bluetooth made it more than worth it for me. The resolution and abilities of it (quality of maps, directions, accuracy, POIs, useability, voice) are unrivaled.

Get the 06. The 05, like mine, is a great car, but at least you'll have no regrets except for paying more in the long run for the 06. A $2k difference over 5 years financed is negligible difference per month. Hopefully you could negotiate well enough to get that price down from 28.5.

If you can get a good price either way, you won't go wrong.

'06 is better, and more worth it especially since they've already got a lot of TSX's on the lot, and you could probably get one really close to invoice or maybe even below /w the holdback

Avoid that, simply because people drive the loaners cars like sh!t. Think of all the people that have driven, eaten, smoked in, etc in that car.

Plus, if your concerned about resale, I think it shows up on the title as being a service loaner for the dealer.

This is not a good deal at all. You can get a new '05 in some areas for that money, especially if they have a few '06's on the lot. Loaner is worse news. It's had many, many drivers who don't care about a car they will never see again after they get their own sweet baby serviced. If you can afford 26.5k, you can afford 28.5k and you will get a NEW car with all the sweet updated features.
