07 TSX transmission failed! JDM?

Hey guys I’m in need of some help!

my 2007 Acura TSX 156k auto transmission needs to get replaced/ rebuilt.

The cheaper route is to replace the trans with a used one. I priced out a few transmissions and am ready to purchase and get it installed but my question is, will the JDM transmission line up correctly and shift the same?

Are there any differences between the two? I don’t want to waste my time and money

The warehouse listed it between 50-60k I so figured that was good mileage on a used transmission. Please let me know any information you guys may have.

I got a used JDM transmission for my 2005 Acura TSX. It shifts exactly the same as my original transmission did when it was new. You should be able to get at least a 30 day warranty. Make sure you do a lot of driving during that 30 day period to test out the used transmission as much as possible.

Did you buy your car new or used? If you bought new, did you do most of your driving in the city? My original transmission failed at a similar mileage to yours. It had 162,000 when I had to replace it.

I bought the car back in September used from a dealer with 1 owner. The car was involved in a front end accident and only the front bumper was replaced.

Its currently in the shop getting the used transmission on it. Now one running into a different problem! The mechanic said that the “plugs” are not the same but I bought the same type of trans that was in it (MCTA). He asked if the check engine light came on or the D started flashing and when I told him no, he said that he would switch it over from the original transmission. But he’s now saying, “if it doesn’t work, that’s not on me.”

tomorrow it will be ready as far as installation goes.

Im worried that I just dumped all that money for nothing.

Btw the previous owner lived upstate NY and I’m in NJ where there aren’t many potholes and my commute doesn’t have much stopping involved.
